Frenzy wax applicator?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't want to take the time to search right now and looking for a quick answer...

Is there any magic with the sponge type applicators for the Frenzy wax? My Frenzy just showed up today and I don't have the sponges to apply it. I figure using a soft cloth would work... or is that a no-no?

Go to wal mart and buy the Mcguires two pack of sponge applicator for $1.67. They work great!
