Miss-Croix Poker Run (St Croix/Mississippi) August 7th

They haven't forthcoming with information, the date has been changed to 7-8 August 2004. Starting near Stillwater Minnesota and Ending at just north of Treasure Island Casio around 35 miles south (Welch Minnesota). Overnight slip included Saturday night. Contact Treasure Island for room reservation if you don't plan on sleeping on the boat. Docks stay noisy until around 3am. Friday night slips were available last year in Bayport MN, should be something similar again.

Last year wasn't there like 90 boats? And if TI ran out of slips last year, this year will be a nightmare without a lot of good organizing on behalf of the poker run staff.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Poker run to start at TI and end there? That way people that trailered in their boats could load them up, leaving more space for people that need a slip.
I haven't been there in a while and cannot remember if there is any beach space at all. I can't imagine TI wanting us taking there gas dock over. In fact, think of the liabilty should something happen with a boat fire, gas grill, etc.

There's slips on the gas dock, it on the end on the first row, if I remember the beach side has the T.I. cruise boat. I remember about 200-300 feet of beach plus more beach on the boat ramp end. We'll road trip down next week and check it out. Hopefully the new boat ramp is finished.

The Miss Croix Poker Run is scheduled for August 7th. We will leave Bayport Marina at 10:00 - rain or shine. We will proceed down the St. Croix and into the Mississippi to end at Treasure Island. All proceeds will be donated to Down Syndrome.

Slips are at a premium this year and are available on a first come space available basis. There is a beach area available to pull up onto, but I am not familiar with how many boats this will hold. My understanding is that it is quite deep there - and should allow for boats to pull in without a problem.

If you participated last year, or received a registration from us last year, you are on the mailing list. If you have never received a registration from us before, or did not participate last year, please send an email to misscroixpokerrun@go.com and leave your address. I will add you to our list.

Website is presently in the development stage. No guarantees at this point. However, I can email registration form out in PDF format.

The Miss-Croix has a short course(something like 35 miles) with quite a few no wake zones. There tends to be a lot more hanging out, partying than boating, It's more or a big party on the water. Fun azz hell I may add.

The Liquid Jungle is a fairly long course(103 this year). We run more of a traditional full on poker run. We run a pace/flag boat, grand prix start, with a lot of open water high speed running, evening meal and a video.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

We had 5-6 boats scheduled for the usual weekend in July. The date change and overnight dock situation killed it for us. We where trying to get at least one boat and it just doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm expecting parts to be shipped to me this week. I'll be installing them Saturday morning. If I can get a sucessful test run Saturday morning. I was thinking of thrailering up to catch the end. But then I figured it wouldn't be worth it to drag the boat up to see everyone pull into TI. So I may just drive up and meet everyone at the dock. Someone has to keep you in line. [smilie=071.gif]

My wife and I trailered our 30 Outlaw to TI on Sat to try and meet up with the group in Prescott.
Took on a short rainshower but got to see some awesome boats and meet a lot of great people. [smilie=071.gif]

The band was great and we had a fantastic time.
