Is there any plans for a MWBP get together at LOTO this summer yet?[smilie=265.gif]

I think a group of us are planning on getting together every few weeks at a cove at the 28 mm.

I was hoping for an informal Midwest Boat Party Party version 1.5 [smilie=1062.gif] at the Spring Harbor Hop. That way, everyone that could not make it last weekend could put some faces with some names before everyone starts running 100 mph (literally for some  ) I think someone mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. Just a thought.

Sounds good to me, ASH will be busy in the fileds then and miss 1.5 as well. Maybe he will let Gina come out and play with us? [smilie=042.gif]

I think the Harbor hop sounds fun, what about the weather for it? [smilie=071.gif]

how do you guys think my 202br (20') will handle in those waters.
I know you guys are running 30' + and 70 mph+,

Seems to me it would be a rough ride for me.
no way in hell I could even see the ass end of a eliminator or a 30'+ baja.

i'll try heheh

maybe I need to see my 202 and step up. hell the 2003 202brlpx is paid for in full, so I can use all that money to step up. Not to thrilled about another bill though heheheheh.

rayJ Not sure how it will do. The fall harbor hop was very rough just as bad as a Holyday weekend. Just take it easy no big rush. [smilie=050.gif]

Mind If I smoke. I will be there this year two! Von Bongo we need to have it set up better then we did last year. Every body was so spread out that no one got to meet one another.

Eddie you will like F and L cool bar nice calm water and great docks.

This year I don’t care how fast every one else is going I am going to take it easy and cruse down there. I think that’s why we lost so many boat we where running fast. I think I went through 3/4 of my tanks going down and back

GB- LOL!! yeah, i know. i started out in the back of the pack poking along, but Tbone kept nagging me to run the front with SummerO. giving into peer pressure, i bumped it up to 90 and cruised to the front. then my water pressure started to decrease so i shut it down. i had a hole in the hose that runs from the seawater pump to the port motor. luckily i caught it as soon as it happened and nothing was damaged but my pride. Your going to get your ass handed to you, that's being nice. [smilie=265.gif]

We got pounded at the BTM poker run in our 25 Outlaw running in the back. I aborted the run about Shooters when they were going to Captain's Galley. ASH peeled off at Summer Ridge and I was watching the water so much trying to drive I went by and didn't see him. LOTO's waves are crazy and you have to have the length to span them or get pounded. You need about 30' of boat and some good power to play with these boys.

Then it's all about quality if your in the back, load the boat up with some hotties and see who sticks around with you. [smilie=042.gif]

Chad I like the part where you "bump" it up to run 90 [smilie=bow.gif]

I would "bump" it if I could, I have to stick to bumping LK [smilie=lovers]

Later that month a 32 foot boat sunk in the "chop" leaving Party Cove. (One Drouned) I was right behind it in a 38 foot boat and at times you couldn't see the shore.

Call me the meat marinator.
I'll take your "fine Ass's" (the ladies), I'll marinate them so when we get to the cove we will all be ready to rock and roll.

rayj, not to sound like pu**, the only time I have been scared on the water was last fourth of july at LOTO, or the weekend the 38 footer sunk. Leaving the fireworks show at the lodge of the four seasons in our 24 foot boat, my buddy in his 40 foot Formula SS looks back at me and says "good luck" This is no lie, we were running up the backside of waves at about 1500 rpm and running down the back side at 4500, it was wild. There were some rollers floating by that to this day I beleive were over the top of our boat.

hell no
I would no way in hell.
I wouldnt risk it!
call me a wuss or a puss, but you will be able to call me the next day and call me those things.

That is crazy!
I know that would sink my boat period.
I would be loaded with people and beer . that would be too much weight to get up and around those wakes.

Damn, that would be a nerve racking ride.

I could only imagine trying to ride out the wakes
without jumping them.

damn. I really want to come out there too.

I have a few friends with cruisers but they are tooo biggg to pull out and ship to LOTO for 1 weekend.

triple deckers.

Rayj you could stay from the 31 mile marker on up to the 70 mile marker and get around pretty well. From the 31 to the damn it churns up pretty dam good. If you go during the week on a non holiday week you can go just about any where.

Man I want to party at Lewisville Lake. Is it worth dragging my boat down there or should I stop at Texoma?

Dude, don't get me wrong, it can get pretty hairy during the day, but nothing like it was that night. This was at night after the fireworks with who knows how many boats leaving all at once. If memory serves me right about the 38 footer sinking, it was a similar situation. Everyone was leaving party cove (again, fourth of july weekend) at the same time. Just use some common sense and if it gets to rough, head for the bar and wait it out.

Sea Esta
03-23-2004, 07:50 PM
That was the Cris Craft that sunk just outside Party Cove. Took 40 seconds to hit bottom at 60 feet. Waves were in the 6 foot range leaving that day. We left around 4:00 and we were in some big Sh*t leaving. First time I had water come over the entire front of the boat. BUt like Bradman said...Common sense and you'll be ok!!!! Also if it is a big weekend and you are down, let others here on the board know and we can show you around and not get you swamped.

Thanks a million guys!

I damn sure will let you know.

I cant risk loosing all my beers!

LOLOL!!!!

And as far as lewisville or texoma.

Lewisville is a but naked party most of the summer.

Texoma is only good on big poker runs or holidays.

Lake Travis in Austin is good too.

Naked college girls all summer long.

my ratings are
1. travis
2. lewisville
3. texoma

they are nothing compared to LOTO! from what I see and what I've been told.
But none the less, its still a blast.
Sometimes smaller crews have more fun.

again thanks guys!

The 38 CC that sunk was taking on water through his transom all day and he knew about it and should never have gone to the cove.

I read somewhere Missouri water patrol estimates that on a holiday weekend there are around 40,000 yes 40,000 boats on the lake.

i too left PC just in time to see the boat go down. it was very, very scary. as soon as i got the cig on plane, there was no backing off. T/S hulls don't like to do 30mph in rough water. Tbone and my buddy Chachi acted as my spotters. we picked our way through the congestion, but still managed to fly Speedy several times. my throttle arm definitely got a workout that day. begging for more punishment, we decided to run up to Horney Toad and back to see if anyone wanted to play in the nasty water. The boat that sunk also had a leak which caused it to be heavy to begin with, then took water from the waves and that was all she wrote.

Ms. Sea Esta
03-24-2004, 11:44 AM
I wondered what happened. I never heard that there was a leak. Now it all makes sense. I couldn't figure out how that large of a boat would sink just from having a big wake go over the bow.

They had blocked the float switch on the bilge pump because the operator knew it was taking on water before they left the dock.

I am surprised I have not seen any charges brought aginst him for he operating his boat in an unsafe manor.

Last year was a learning experience for us for "Mind if I smoke?".
I agree about running more together. I tried to run in front and find the entrance to Big Dick's cove, as well as securing the dock situation.
I know the guys at Big Dicks were VERY happy to have us there, and will want us there again this year!
I think we need to reserve tables in addition to docks, and perhaps have someone there early to do some "re-con" for us.
If you are worried about the waves, go early!
Truthfully, after the first few miles, it was smooth sailing.

Anyone have any more suggestions for "Mind if I smoke?" 2004?
