I found a remote that will fit my dash cutout. I do not want to cut my dash anymore. This will fit the hole already there. Is pioneer stereos any good? What should I look for in a stereo? I do not need to blast out anyone but this whole watts, # of channels and all have the old head spinning. I need help the wife is starting to get a little anxious that the stereo will not be in the boat in 3 weeks. I also want to make sure I get something that if I do want to add an amp later I can. Here is the remote I was looking at, there is one above it also which would be better? A lot of questions thanks

Pioneers are very good imo, have head units in both my car and old boat, never had any problem and they have good features.

I have always had great luck with Pioneer products. I just installed that same remote on the boat last week. (the one with the display) Very easy to hook up and does everything but drive the boat for you!! Hooked up to a DEH-P3700MP receiver, around $150 with a wireless remote included.

Your stereo will be fine, it has most of the necessary outputs for things like amps, crosovers, EQ's, etc. The wife will love it and it will be easy to add to.
If you need help let us all know, I know that myself, Christian and Amer3 can help. Good luck!

Going to buy the DEHP4800MP ($140 at audio allies) with the CD-MR80D. Thanks Baja232 for the lead. They were vey helpful and spent the time to walk through everything. I think these will work just fine and let me add an amp or something else later. Plus it comes with a wireless remote for the cabin so I wont have to get up from any [smilie=126.gif] if I am lucky. Know I just have to install it. That is where the fun will begin for me.

Thanks again
