New imepeller time!

What caused that, wear, sand, or ice?

Looks okay to me. Lets just glue it back together. [smilie=071.gif] [smilie=071.gif]

Did it look like that before or after the torch?

So you're telling me you found the source of the noise? Damned Tige's and their inferior parts.

You need to buy a blender to mix those fru fru drinks dude. Running your motor when it is on the trailer and using the prop to do it is not a good idea [smilie=011.gif]

That looks all to familiar. If the housing is plastic be sure its not warpped or even cracked before you put it together. Otherwise you'll be doing it twice......like I did [smilie=106.gif]

Dr. Jeff
03-11-2004, 03:51 PM
Housing.......ya what tweety said, you hear that ASH? Check the housing thingy to make sure its not warped or something, before you put the propeller thingy back in the engine thingy thats broke and hook up that snake belt thingy.

Its fun being a gearhead!!!!!

Has anyone else notice that I have no idea how to fix an engine?

Thats OK DR. Its better to be able to fix a human than a Boat???? If you screw up on a human the MP Insurance goes threw the stratisphere! If Ash screws up on your boat well he will just have to have his surgury somewhere else.

In IA/NE we dont ever do just the impeller. The sand and crap in the water destroys the entire pump. (not ice this time)

So DJ do you want to cough up the $80 for a new pump or do you want me to put one of my old ones on. The ones I have prolly have about 130 hours of mostly crap water on them. I would not be afraid to use them if you are pressed for $$$. If you can cough up the money the "right" way to do it is all new parts.

I would say you can get a 100 hours on the ones I have no prob. They are free. I have a lot of them laying around.

Dr. Jeff

$80? No problem, thats only 40 cents per member!

Can you get the new pump or tell me where to go. If I have to order one, maybe we'll put one of yours on till it gets here, otherwise I'll buy it in town if you know who has em.

Dr. Jeff

Eddie, tell me where to order them, and if it doesn't come in before Ash and I.... okay ASH has time to replace it, I'll just take yours and give you the new one.

I get a collection of these every year, I wonder if we could buy a pallet of them from China in sell them in the classified section. And yes, get those pieces out, pull all the hose at the coolers and back flush them. Try to piece it back together to insure you got the big chunks out or she (or he) might run a little hotter.

I guess it's a good thing it started to squeal, since you don't watch the temperature gauge. I have see the engines get so hot from this that it actually starts to melt the hoses...or could that have been from Adam's torch?

Isn't the bronze soft enough to still get chewed up by the sand?

GrumpyBullet

I don’t think so. They are a lot tougher then the plastic pumps. I think they pump more water too.

Dr. Jeff
04-27-2004, 05:49 PM
So then the question becomes, do they last at least 3 or 4 times as long as the plastic $80 ones. Sure, there's the fact that you have to put a new plastic one on each year, but if you act dumb enough, you can always find a farmer who feels sorry for you and will have it on in no time! Doc,

I just put 2 of those kits in and the pumps are good as new..... Its simple to replace...... [smilie=061.gif]

Dr. Jeff

Mine were simple too. I wandered around the garage, while ASH layed upside down in my boat and cursed the guy who put my engine in backwards!

Any Ideas where a guy can take a boat to get a small dent removed and a splash of paint on it? Dent is under the bow,Not on the main seam.Does a place like boat repairing company charge good or more because I have to see my budget too.

What kind of boat do you have that there would be a dent? Is it some type of metal? Or do you mean there is a scratch in the gel or a crack, from dock rash?

Just clarifying so we can give you the best direction of help.
