Might be pretty simple for some of you to answer...something I need to fix this Spring.

I have noticed at times I get a lot of static at louder volumes. The way I can make this stop is switch the battery selector to the DUEL setting. So it seems I am having an issue with getting enough power. Right now I have 2 RF amplifiers and they are a combined power of about 1200 watts RMS.

I upgraded these this summer, but I am pretty sure I need larger cables to the battery. But this still doesnt 'jive'. Both batteries it is fine. (oh yea, they are new Group 27's)

Would one of those capicitor things help me? Or is it a function of the wiring only?

By no means am I a pro at this stuff - however, a buddy of mine was having the same problem. He had run both the hot and the neg to the battery. He left the hot on the battery and took the ground off of the battery, and grounded it on the main ground post of the boat - I hope Im saying this correctly?

2 Cents worth!

main grounding post?? I am not following this... Are you talking about an area on the engine? It seems I would get the best current flow directly from the battery, but who knows.
