Anyone in KC have a big yellow school bus (and driver) we can borrow for one night?
The last thing we want is for someone to get in trouble, plus if transportation is provided then everyone can relax and really cut loose. A shuttle won’t work because nearly everyone will be leaving all at once when the bar closes, so we’re looking at big yellow school bus options.
I wish you woulda asked me 2 years ago. But I guess this wouldn't have worked anyway, it wasn't yellow. [smilie=050.gif]

If you're "borrowing," you might want to think about the liability aspects first.

That’s why I said (and driver). I sure as hell am not driving a bus, even sober. [smilie=042.gif]

Tim, Sweet bus.... reminds me of RAGBRAI. That's a great party.
All, might want to consider everyone throwing in a few bucks and renting a bus for the night. That way they are covered from the liability standpoint.
How far is the bar from the hotel?
Nothing more fun than ragbrai.....
Just raise the ticket price to $8 instead of the $5. If people want to use the bus great. If they bitch about not wanting to pay the extra $3 for a bus they won't use, tell them to stay home. This party would have nearly the same attendance if the cover was $20 instead of $5, so just do it!!!!

Hell Ya!

Good thought Tim!! It would be in favor of raising the price and including an optional donation to MWBP to cover all the hard work to orginize this whole thing!!

I guess I didn't clarify that I meant bus & driver. We have some good friends that are in a band that have a bus (you may have even seen them @ LOTO, as they play there 1-2 times per summer).
A few years ago, we had a large party in Bennington, NE (about 15 min. from Omaha). I called them to see if we could "rent" their bus (& a driver). They said that the liability issues are totally different than a regular bus co. & it would really put their [smilie=eck05.gif] 's on the line if they were to provide transportation using their bus (& driver).
In order for them to cover their [smilie=eck05.gif] 's, they would have had to get an extra, and LARGE amount of liability insurance, which would have cost a fortune.
Just trying to help, by passing on info. that I learned by trying to do what sounds like the same thing you're looking for. [smilie=042.gif]

Hell, just make it $10 cover. No one will balk at that. Then you have enough to rent a bus for 2 hours, AND keep this joint runnin for a while.

With the amount of people going, i would think this group has enough "short buses" to get everyone on board. [smilie=265.gif]

What about taxis. Could we cantact a taxi co and tell them to have a butt load of taxis ready at closing time give or take an hour.

Laidlaw, MTSI, Heartland, Kincaid, etc
They may have a 2-hr minimum, so have them show up & start the shuttling at 11:00 or 11:30. Make sure one of those shuttle trips swings by Bazookas or the outhouse.

The Outhouse is where i took my now wife on our first date. It was my 30th bday at time. One of the strippers stepped off stage, walked over to her, unbuttoned her top, lifted her bra up & they went boob to boob. That was a great night.

I'm not seeing the problem with a mobile strip club. I don't see any problem with any strip club. I think we need more!

We have a bus!!!!
After an overwhelming consensus of you said you'd like to have a bus for drunken transportation at the party, we have gotten one. To pay for this, we added $5 to the price of the party tickets, and we'll have a bus that runs from 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM from the bar to the hotel and back.

Thanks for all the input!!! I have found a bus!! We will have a bus to shuttle back and forth between the bar and hotel from 6:00 to 2:00! As per your requests, we will be raising the price of the tickets to $10! Much cheaper than a cab or a DUI!!! Jeff will fill you in on any other details!! See ya. [smilie=061.gif]

Damn. He beat me again. However, my post is correct. The bus is from 6:00, not 5:30.
