I think I left some brain cells behind at the harbor....WOW what a great event and great meeting all you others. The band that night simply kicked ass!

Great pictures...the algae wasn't that bad..just was bad in the lock. Great water conditions too!

Now lets get some of those chopper photos posted. The chopper was one of the many highlights of the event. The pilot was flying low and fast(just ask anyone that was there) so the camera guys where able to get so killer footage.

My plans didn't quite go off without a hitch, so I didn't get to all the places I wanted to get to in time. So I missed some good shots, but got a few good action shots anyway.

This is a selection of what I took and super-resized. The originals are roughly 3500 x 2300 pixels and 3-4MB apiece. If you see something you like, send me a PM and we can work something out.

I don't know most of the boats or the captains, so I'm just going to go ahead and post, without captions.

no, i was first and was running 96 mph on my gps. but to be honest i think rocket man had engine problems and the guy in the 26 daytona had a little bit more top end than me, but couldnt run through the wave as easily as i could. it was a blast thanks again and see u next year, i may have a different cat i want to go up to a 30

If Rocket man, Nasty Girl or Xcesive disorder would have got in it, they would have blown away the rest of the fleet. Rocket Man lost a motor and the other two where holding way back so they didn't break before the shoot out. Lance(25 daytona) said he ran 95 and I talked to denny(26 daytona) at the top of pepin and he said he say 104 on the GPS on the way up. Dallas22 said 96, so there was plenty of fast boat.

I know gary cleaned out his water filters found a rag in one and then he came back down and passed me like i was standing still!! I was doing 70+ so these big v's were definatley bagging or saving for the shootout!!

i ran right next to denny un less my gps is wrong he never went more than 1 boat length in front of me so there was know way he ran 104 maybe 97 or 98 tops. when we hit some waves it would take him along time to catch me

i ran right next to denny un less my gps is wrong he never went more than 1 boat length in front of me so there was know way he ran 104 maybe 97 or 98 tops. when we hit some waves it would take him along time to catch me

He just hit 104 as his best speed, he didn't run that fast the whole time. I'm not sure he could. It has to be just the right conditions to touch that. Lance couldn't get above 95 even though the boat can run faster. I really wanted to see Nasty Girl do a 125mph pass but he never took it over 109. That's hauling for a 50' boat.

But there is a reason why poker runs are with 98% performance boaters. i understand that the money goes to a good cause, but i have to believe that isn't the main reason people go to these poker runs. i also understand that there where allot of vees with double to triple the power than allot of the cats. but if people don't want to open there boats up because they are afraid they aren't going hold up, and break down so they cant run them in the shoot out. well maybe they should run some thing more reliable. just my 2 cents

Some of these guys build these boats just for the LOTO shootout (Nationally publisized Powerboat event) and still want to participate in some of the local events for various reasons i don't think money or reliability was an issue... But I don't know anyone who can build a 1200 cobra and install it in 2 days Unless you are Miss Budwieser... And more Importantly they could give two shits weather your little kitty cat is faster or not at a charity event Just my two Cents.. I (we) know your cats not only fast, beautiful, & can beat most of us But stop tooting your own horn its kinda makin you look like a tool!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Who's faster? Who cares ... its cool to run wide open whether that be 45 mph or 115 mph. There will always be someone with deeper pockets and more horsepower. :oops:

I've learned to be happy with what I have not what I want, which at this point is nothing. [smilie=106.gif]

And if that means a canoe next year, then by all means I will be wearing blaze orange out there and having the time of my life.
