From Gary:
Hi everyone,
I've finally nailed down a date for the next boat party. It will be at 2 P.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the usual spot on the St. Croix River in Hudson, WI. There is a map on my website, www.garysnextparty.com.
I'm happy to say that the music will be provided by the 80's rock band "The Suburbs." We've been trying to get them for a long time and they have finally agreed to play for us.
For those of you that are "garysnextparty virgins," I will supply a couple kegs of beer and a shuttle boat. You don't need a boat or even know someone with a boat. Just say "Gary sent me" and you're in.
We are always in need of boaters who will offer to non-boaters a ride out to the party from shore, so if any of you would like to volunteer your services for a few hours it would be greatly appreciated. I'll chip in for expenses and your time.
For those boaters that would like to be at the "center" of the party, please get there around 1:30 for the larger boats. We usually tie up the larger boats in the center first and then tie up the smaller ones on the outside. If you want to be in the "center," please allow strangers on your boats (although you probably won't be strangers for long) and allow people to cross your boat, as there is a lot of boat "surfing" going on. Landlubbers, please be respectful of other people's boats.
Hope to see everyone there,
Gary
PS The party usually breaks up around 9:30 or 10:00. It happens really fast with no warning, so make sure that you are on the boat that you want to be on. Every time, many people are the wrong boat when it breaks up and then each boater is left with the job of taxi driver.
