Didn't make it to Shelbyville last weekend, we are going to retry for this coming weekend...

Right after getting our new-to-us-first-ever-didn't-even-know-if-we-wanted-one boat last year, we went on its/our maiden voyage to Lake Shelbyville (kind of scary when I think about it).

Now that we've had almost a year to try different lakes, water conditions, plant and harvest the boat from the water, etc., we're headed back to Shelbyville on [blur:8670bad5e7]08/13[/blur:8670bad5e7] [glow=red:8670bad5e7]08/20 and/or 08/21[/glow:8670bad5e7] for some exploring and to see if we can find a good place to anchor and enjoy some sun.

If any MWBP peeps are going to be there and want to meet, where? Or, if you are there and see our boat, feel free to stop and visit or stop us to visit (we're not hard to catch if your boat has better than 25 horses).

Take lots of pic of the lake if you can, as that might be a lake we go to next year. [smilie=071.gif]

Weather is looking a bit iffy right now. We'll probably give it a try unless the weather takes a turn for the worse in the next couple hours. Will try to get some interesting pics to post.

DB - the lake at normal pool (water area that is) - 11,100 acres with 172 miles of shoreline. Try this link for more info - http://www.lakeshelbyville.com/

We went there a week or so ago and found the lake to be really nice, big, and a lot of coves to park in. There were a lot of big boats down there and the water was a little rough at the end of the day when we headed in, but not bad at all. I believe it has 3 marinas on it, and several campgrounds.

Sorry, didn't make it. Looked like storms were brewing and only turned out to be hot & muggy most of the day (even worse today, it actually is raining finally, well, kind of raining)... recarpeted some decking in the boat instead. We're going to try again for next weekend 08/20 and/or 08/21 if weather is cooperative.
