Well, this is a little belated. I never even thought about posting the information about this party before it happened. Sorry! I guess it didn't cross my mind since we weren't going to be able to be there.

Anyway, it was held on August 6, and they have pics here: http://www.chicago-scene.com/photo.htm

I've never gone, but I hope we can make it next year!

My parents will be visiting us here in Indiana next weekend. We'll be too busy to make it to the Air and Water show, but it might be worth starting a thread to get the word out!

Some of those ChiTown girls are really hot - and some of those ChiTown boats are really "ships". I didn't know boats could have that many people on them. Cool party! [smilie=appl] [smilie=appl] [smilie=appl]

We'll be up there on Sunday. I am going to put in at Alsip and take the river up. Not sure how many boats will be in our group but I'll keep my eyes open for any MBP people [smilie=1056.gif]

Around from Navy Pier by Oak St. Beach there is area were boats tie off or anchor called the "Play Pen", I've come across some pretty snobbish cruiser people though, it seems better to stick with you own kind.

Julia and I have spent a little bit of time on Lake Michigan, but we haven't found any kind of parties like MWBP or Party Cove! We spend our time on the southeast corner of the lake from Portage, IN to New Buffalo, MI.

The Chicago Scene Boat Party was held in the Play Pen, and I'm not surprised that you primarily ran into cruisers, ForceGTX. LOTO and Lake Michigan have their own personalities. LOTO is a go-fast, social, and party atmosphere. Lake Michigan is a cruiser, slow-boat-to-a-real-destination kind of place. We like having the option for either lake. Our 23 foot Dancer allows us to pick and choose our weekends.

The attached pics are of Boater's Beach off of Portage, IN. The nearby steel mill detracts from the view, but lengthens the swimming season by warming the surrounding water with its warm-water discharge.
