Here are a few pics i took from the trip. Unfortunately I didn't take a lot on this trip due to having to deal with getting a next day UPS letter out and an incident with a gravel bar.

Here is Mr and Mrs Grump and Ms PTExtreme.

I don't have any pics of Grumpy's Cig since Ms sea and I had to ride with them. Friday evening on the way back to the marina we hit a gravel bar which took the lower unit out. Luckily I was going under 25 when the mishap occurred and no one was hurt. The boat cleared the bar but the lower unit didn't. Once I got us off the bar, the boat started back up. It went into gear but had a terrible shake. the prop was pretty much toast. The next morning when we got the boat out of the water we could see the prop and case wear pretty much destroyed and the prop shaft was bent. Since i had to idle back to the marina I'm sure the bearings are wasted now as well. The boat is at F&L's for repairs and we are waiting for the insurance company to asses damage and clear for repairs. Right now we are looking at a new lower unit, sea pump and motor flush. I guess we will know Friday if there was any more damage.

That blows, man I'm hurting and it's not even my new boat. Hope everything works out with the ins. co., the parts and repairs go smoothly.

Looks like a great time - except for the lower unit. I almost made it down with Bradman, but they couldn't make it so we hung out at the river all afternoon and night.

Had a really great time - the lake was a nice change of scenery. I think we need to add a day to the trip though - it seemed to go by WAY to fast.

And, of course, next time all boats come out unscathed!

Sorry Sea to hear about the boat. [smilie=106.gif] [smilie=106.gif] I know the feeling. Were gravel bars really bad down there? I know, stupid question being it took out your drive and all.

Nice graphics on the new boat Pt. How were the accomodations everyone stayed at?

Accommodations were great I thought. The owners, Mark and Jan, were a pleasure to talk to. They came over and ate with us since we had SOOO much food. If nothing else we'll go back there next year.

As far as the gravel bars. The Lake was down so points aren't marked. I was watching the GPS and depth. I now know that GPS is still off by quite a bit. Depth only helps with slow rising bottoms. We went from 50' to 1.5 foot just like that!

Drive is mechanical and can be fixed. I'm just glad no one was hurt. That's irreplacable.

Danielle was talking on the way home and I am not so sure about going that far next year. We were talking about going to a closer lake like Shelbyville IL. Sure its no way near the size of Bull shoals or Norfork, however I think we had more fun floating in the water then driving anyway. I know I had the most fun of the weekend 300 yards from the marina. If we did that we would have a lot less drive time / more boating time and maybe we can get more people to go. Just a thought. If everyone wants to go back I will probably still be in

I would like to throw going to Kentucky Lake into the possibilities for a group run. It is no farther than LOTO and you can even do a day trip on water to Nashville by water............Just something to think about..

I was just telling Sea about Shelbyville. We were there last weekend on a Saturday and found the lake to be pretty big. We never reached the end and we started at the dam. Was a bit rough at times with my 18', but where is it not? I thought the lake was very nice with a few marinas and some places to eat. Didn't see any place right on the water to stay, but at the time, wasn't really looking hard either.

Kentucky Lake sounds good to me too. We had planned on going there this year until my boating season was shortened by my basketball goal in my driveway! [smilie=106.gif]

There is at least one resort http://www.eaglecreekresort.com There may be another not sure and a few campgrounds. Nice lake.

That looks like a neat center console boat. What is the top speed with the single outboard?

PTExtreme hasn't been able to play with props yet so I'm not sure how fast he will get it up to. When they tested the boat in FL right before purchasing it they had it to mid 60's pretty easy.

mid 60's, was that in salt water I assume. Good speeds
