Please mark your calendars!!!!! The first annual pre-season Midwest Boat Party Party is scheduled for March 20, 2004!

Place: Anchor Inn - Omaha, Nebraska
When: March 20, 2004 7PM - Close
What: Get to know your fellow boater party. We will have the place to ourselves, food, cash bar, and music.
Price: $5 Cover (just to cover rental of bar and DJ)

Please try to attend. It would be great to finally put faces to all these names. Because we are not trying to make money here, but just cover costs, please PM me with an RSVP if you are planning on attending. One week before the event, we need to let them know how many people are attending so we can have enough food for everyone.

I hope to see a lot of KC/LOTO/and everywhere else nearby people come. If you let us know soon enough, there are plenty of us Omaha/Iowa people that would be happy to put some people up for the night.

Again, hope to see you all there and please RSVP so we know how much food to get.

What is close by here for overnight accomadations?
Coming from MN so would just need one night.
Not looking for an expensive place, but not a dive also.
Close proximity would be good if I care to have more then a drink or two.

I went for a drive this am:

Wingate Inn is on Ave H & 13th

Sleep Inn is on Abbot Drive and & 13th

Country Inn & Suites by Carlson is the closest just down Abbot Drive a few blocks away from the turn to the Anchor Inn off Gallup Drive.

IF someone wants to blow some cash:

Courtyard Marriot and Hilton Garden Inn are located downtown and close to the Qwest Center.

All the hotels mentioned are very close to the Anchor Inn - only a few miles away.

I plan on attending with the ND - let me know if you need more information

MnFastBoat should get a 15 passenger van and pick-up all the MN drunks, being he's from way up north suburb. If he makes the 694/494 loop he can pick up Bustag, C&J, MnCrownline then Myself, and I believe their a Minnesotan down in Rochester also. We'll buy the road soda's!

guess something like this could be done :)
people would be willing to help pay for the cost of htee van and be able to go at the times needed.

Would think leaving the TC area by 9 am would give us plenty of time for time delays and travel. If the weather is not agreeable we might have to accomadate that.
I would think that we should arrive around 5pm at teh motel.
Would prefer everyone staying at the same motel, not really to keen on the idea of driving to several motels dropping and picking people up
I checked prices at teh Sleep Inn and the internet prices for a single room was $54 that is in MY price range
Get back to me those who would be willing to do this.
If it is less then 4 people I would be willing to drive or ride and share cost.
However, if Idrive MY truck there is no smoking or drinking in it!

Here are a few hotels I looked up that are very close to the anchor inn.

http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/doubletree-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html
nice but a little pricey, right in downtown.

Another right by the first one
http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/embassy-suites-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html

A cheap one, about 10 minutes from Anchor Inn
http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/holiday-inn-express-downtown-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html

at the airport, 5 minutes from Anchor
http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/ramada-inn-airport-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html

right downtown
http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/sheraton-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html

another at airport
http://www.omahahotelstoday.com/sleep-inn-north-suites-hotel-omaha-nebraska-ne.html

Hope this helps, bottom line is, anywhere in omaha you will be within 15-20 minutes of anchor inn. If you find a good price, let me know where it is and I'll tell you how close you are to downtown.

Thanks for the information we will check them and see what we come up with. I noticed HM posted about possibly having to move the party to another location. If this happens will it be very far from the original place?

It sounds like fun, but no-can-do. Weekends are booked solid from now untril mid summer. Take plenty of pictures and report back.

Let's start thinking of "Whatever Floats Your Boat Party" for late fall.

It's been a while since I have been to GA there but I am sure you would have no problem at Epply getting transportation. You are very close to the Anchor Inn there anyway. A taxi ride wouldn't take 10 Minutes from the airport.

The Sleep IN is very close to the Anchor Inn. Maybe a mile or mile and 1/2 away. that is prob. where we will be staying instead of driving to the other corner of Omaha where we live.

I was hoping to be within walking rrrrr I mean stagering distance so no one would have to drive. But I we could make due.

I know they don't sell my beer in NE. But I'm sure they sell Captain Morgan right? That is unless Ash has drank the state dry already.

Dr. Jeff

I called and they said since ASH was going to be out of town for the party, they will just stock a case of Captain instead of three, but that should be plenty for the rest of us! [smilie=071.gif]

MNfastboat,

I guess we would need to find a way to get out there. I'm assuming your truck is an extened cab pick up. I'm thinking the wif would get pretty uncomfortable in the back for 6 hours. Our grand cherokee gets terrible gas milage but would probably make the trip. It would be nice to take a car that gets about 30 mile to the gallon. Maybe I can borrow a car from someone. What do you think?

What a cool site! I live in Omaha & love the Anchor Inn & see there's a fun party brewing for this weekend. Is this open to the General Public if the $5.00 cover is paid? Will there be music? Do we have to own a boat? I have a fun group of friends who'd love to join in if possible. Please let me know so I can get the word out if possible to join in. Thanks in advance!

The party is not open to the general public. I'd PM DJ and see what he thinks about getting the word out. The party wasn't set up to make money, just so that the members of the web site can put a name with a face.

Dr. Jeff

I did chat privately with couraje, and here was the underlying message.

Technically the party is NOT open to the general public. Having said that, the whole idea is to get boaters and people who may enjoy boating together. So, if you have friends that would fit in with a boating crowd and you know they'd behave (better than eddie does) then please feel free to bring them along.

Hope that answers everyones questions. [smilie=061.gif]
