I am new to MWBP and asking any help that I can get to get together a Poker run or get together/Party in the hopes of raising money for the "Juvinelle Diabetes Research Foundation". They hold a fund raising drive every year ending in a walk for the cause at Forrest Park Septmeber 25, 2005 and this is some thing that affect many children through out the country. So anyone with any ideas or locations that they think would be good and would draw the best crowd, please feel free to drop me a line.
I will keep everyone up to date as the dates, places and details as I put things together. Hope all you MWBP folks in the area will attend and have a good time.[/b]

If you want a good turn out for a Poker Run, I would say the LOTO is the best place. Except, I think you should try running it on the upper portion of the lake say from the 31mm to the 55mm. This way the smaller boats could join and the faster/smaller ones can play too. A lot of people would love to try a poker run out, but are afraid of the BIG WATER!! Let me know if you need a list of places that would probably be interested in helping out.

I agree, Have it at LOTO. A mid Sept. run would be great. Because the Shootout is the weekend before Labor Day and Labor Day is the end of Summer for most. The next big event is not until the first weekend in October (Harbor Hop).
I mid Sept. run would give us something to do btween big events. As far as the big water is concerned it would be a non-factor after the holiday weekend. So if you would like to have the run before the walk the weekend of September 17th would be perfect.
If you decide on LOTO let me know. I can put you in touch with a lot of owners at the lake.

Very True!!! If it is in Mid September than water will not be as big of and issue. Although SeaRay is clearing the path with a 43 foot monster, it is nice after the Labor Day Weekend. He is a good connection for the lower lake.. Let us know what we can do to help...

My company did a golf tourny for JDRF (Juvenille Diebetes Reserch Foundation) in the spring. I would love to help with a poker run.
Please call me when you get a date set.

I heard a rumor that one of the magazines might be doing a mid sept poker run with F&L at LOTO due to the huge success of the one this spring.....again this was just a rumor and I was [smilie=1062.gif] when I heard it.

Yeah, but Rome from F & L was saying something about setting up a big run the Friday before the Shootout. Maybe that is what he was talking about.. Who knows...
