Sounds like there are quite a few MWBP'ers planning to hook up in party cove at Perry on Sat. June 18th. Who all is in?? All are welcome! I imagine we'll do the same thing as last time, hang out all day on the water, then go to Ump's sportsbar (on the lake) for drinks & grub around 7:00'ish. Ok Colleen can't make it now, her days off that weekend are Thur, Fri. Josh here is a link to Perry Marina http://lakeperry.iboats.com/. I think Eddie and Lil K are thinking about coming down. I think it's 2.5-3 hrs from Big O. We usually just rent a slip at the marina and stay on the boats. There are very few covered if any slips available this year.

My wife Calley and some of our friends will be their. I would love to tie up with you and meet some of you. We were out at Perry the last time you all were their but we were tied up at the end to Josh (a good friend of ours who I belevie some of you have already met). Being at the end I didn't get the chance to meet a lot of you but hopefully on the 18th that will change.

They usually do, Luvinlife272 or whatever he has for a boat this week comes down too. I imagine if he's off he and Jodi may come down. F4L and Hemi have been a few times as have TopE and 1finern so maybe they all will.

Talk to Brian at Perry Marina - (785) 597-5555. You can't rent slips online, unfortunately. They DO have showers. Slips are $25 a night (covered, without elec.) and $20 (uncovered, without elec). Electricity is avail. for $5 more. Hope this helps!!

We, Wet Willie, Queen what's her face and myself just got back from the Quarry at ElDorado, got rain, wind, hail, and 4-5' swells. But we were there. Where was everybody? Oh and we're heading to the the truck from having one on the dock and Christian and Brian show up to work on the boat. From the size of C's cooler he must have a LOT of work to do.
Let us know the plan, WW brought the boat home from the lake for the trip. IS everybody going Friday night or Saturday. Is there a leave the light on close by? We just want a cheap hotel.

I hate to say this, but I think we'd best wait until Thurs. to make the decision on getting out on Perry this weekend. The water is WAY high - the Corp. of Engineers isn't letting any water out until tomorrow, because all the rivers are high, too. We'll have to see if it's low enough by Sat. to boat. All the ramps are closed at this point.

I'll keep everyone posted - we're going out there tonight to check it out. I'll try to post some pics. Baja Dave was out there last night and couldn't even put his 29 back in the slip, the water was so high.

You can still launch at Perry with the water this high. In '93 I used DJ's "ramp" when the water was up to the entrance road. Also, don't forget about LPYM's ramp that bypasses the normal low-lying entrance which was under water as of yesterday. It's behind the shop and is a straight shot down the ramp. They usually leave it open, however, if it's closed I'm pretty sure they'd open it up if someone asked. That being said, be sure to ask about parking so you don't get towed should you not be able to park in the state lot. Good luck...glad I don't trailer!

I was talking with Eddie about your high water. If you guys can't boat there you can come up to Omaha, [smilie=trink39] The river is great. all cleaned out and lots of water. And Ed said Carter is looking OK. It's a three hour trip.

Make sure you have an open ramp before every one starts driving down. I would hate to drive three hours and the lake is closed. Wait! What am I [smilie=106.gif] about I can't come any way. Never Mind!

Everyone check back on Thurs. afternoon and we'll have an update on how much water has been let out.

Carrie, I don't understand???? Dave couldn't back into his slip because the water was too high??? The dock's float.........right? I don't get it??? Maybe he couldn't get in the water because the ramp was closed.........but in your last post you said the ramp is open???

The main drive to the ramp between the main marina entrance and Pirate's cove is under water. I'm guessing Dave forgot about the LPYM ramp that's behind the shop. Dave's on our dock (C) and as of yesterday everything was fine, except you had to wade through the parking lot to get to the dock. Still had power as of yesterday afternoon as well.

I heard the same thing as Carrie about letting water out. I chatted with the folks at the marina and they said if the rain lets up the Corps was planning on opening the spillway tomorrow. You can check the status of the lake here:

Ok, I tried to put the boat in last night and Slough Creek was the only ramp that was open, but the wind and waves were so high at that time I didn't want to risk dinging the new boat... Big chicken:) The docks at the marina are fine right now except for having to wade or swim over to them so hopefully by this weekend they should have let enough water out to have cured most of the problems. P.S. Carrie did you kiss my baby for me and tell it I wasn't trying to neglect her:)

I went to the Corp office today and they said the will start releasing 2000 cf per second I believe, tommorrow then 5000 on thurs and 8000 starting friday morning untill the lake comes down to 2' above normal pool where they want to leave it. Several ramps should be open by Saturday morning and no rain is forecasted.

Lake will be fine guys we put in deeper than this. D.J,s looks OK to put in Perry Marina will be a problem. I say game on also!!!! Just don't put your drives all the way down pulling off the trailer. That is experience talking after a $1100 dollar prop incident!! [smilie=1381.gif] [smilie=1381.gif]

Closest Hotel is probably Topeka. C/limes would better be able to tell you.

Well , hell and high water, that is going to keep us off the lake for awhile. Spun a main bearing, motor is being pulled today or tomorrow. Don't know how long we will be down and out. [smilie=1381.gif] Hope you all can get on the lake, still pretty high at perry. Have fun and be careful. [smilie=042.gif]

There are several Bed & Breakfasts near Lake Perry. One is available this weekend and runs $136 a night, which includes dinner AND breakfast. The people that run it are very, very nice and it's about 10 mins. from the lake. The other B&B still hasn't returned my call so I don't know if they have openings tomorrow night or how much they cost.

There are lots of hotels in Topeka, but the closest one is about 20-25 minutes away from the lake.

Hope that helps a little. If you're interested in more details, PM me.

I've heard there are 2 ramps open and hopefully more by tomorrow - they're letting out a lot of water now. Let us know how it goes!
