I personally thought it was kind of lame, a lot of boats but a lot of the same.
How did it compare to the last one in Overland Park?
Just curious

I thought it was better than it has been in the past. It's still very heavy on small runabouts, bass boats and pontoons. Cobalt's new "sport boat" was nice, if not outragously priced.

It was almost the same as last year. I did notice there wasn't the same number of performance boats and last year had dwindled from the previous year as well. I was talking with BTM and they were surprised that Katchina wasn't at the show since they had started advertising down at the Lake. Would of been nice to see.

Lounge was much better location this year! Upstairs and out of the way instead of middle of the floor.

as a peformance boat owner, the STL show is still in need of vast improvement. they either need to make it totally a runabout and fishing boat show or expand the # of boats by excluding the exhibitors in the dome, thus creating more room for more performance boats. currently, there aren't enough performance boats there to draw that type of market to the show. the widwest is a hotbed for performance boating......it is a shame that we do not have a show that represents us better.

i made the mistake of walking around in my yellow "Cigarette" fleece, which drew the attention of several, less than intelligent, show-goers that allowed me to overhear them talking about "i bet he owns wanna dem dare Cigar boats dat day use fer runnin' drugs on da big waters!"

as i crept up on the Black Thunder display, i covered my Cigarette logo with a brochure.....but it didn't last long. Shane Poeling had to point out to a crowd of 15 people that they had a Cigarette guy looking at their Black Thunder!!! [smilie=011.gif] i offered to put on a Black Thunder jacket for a nominal fee. after refusing to pay me to wear their logo, i decided to pick on BT's LOTO reps (Scott Gauspohl, Shane Poeling and his brother Kyle) about hogging all the fukin' slips in Toad Cove with their BT's! (we were only joking around) they quickly remided me that the next time they are giving a test ride to a prospective customer, i don't need to fly past them with my passengers waiving!!!! i don't remember the exact time, but i guess i flew past a group of 5 or 6 BT's with some prospective customers as they were hauling ass from Party Cove to Toad Cove last summer. they called me something along the lines of a crazy SOB..... [smilie=050.gif] if they wouldn't take all the slips, i wouldn't have to hurry to get there! [smilie=071.gif]

I don't think there is a comparison to the Overland Park show and the St. Louis show. The St. Louis show is four or five times the size of Overland Park show. We make the trip to St. Louis each year for the show as well as a get away weekend in the middle of winter...Union Station...Fast Eddies...PT's...well you get the picture. They also have a lot of other boating related displays...docks...lifts...dock lockers...and so on. Sorry we did not bump into any of the Midwest Boat Party faithful's, we were there [smilie=042.gif]

Cobalt's 343 was at the show? How did that look? Did anyone take pictures of the show other than Ameri3 and Sea?

It was just like last years. Disappointing!. Very little in the performance category DJ there where more boat with roll bars then boats with load exhaust. [smilie=106.gif

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that. You would think that with LOTO as close as it is, there would be more in the line of performance. I had a laugh when JBK mentioned the "Cigar boat" deal. I was hanging around BTM for about 15 minutes talking to the guys and I swear I heard that 3 times. Amazing!

I've got a couple of pics that I'll post tonight.

Sorry about that Sea Esta. Unfortunatley, the misses car did not have the same idea and decided not to start for 3 days. Normally not a big deal, but we are both in sales and trying to get around was a nightmare. We actually only made it to the show for a couple of hours on Saturday night because I was trying to play mechanic. Since you guys are in St. Peters, I'm sure the opportunity will present itself again. Are you guys ever on the river?

Sorry to hear about your friend. We did not have a great week either, someone got ahold of the number from our Debit card and cleand out our checking account. The bank is stepping up to make sure that we get our money back, just a real pain in the ass. Anyway, Red Dog's is fine by me. I am over behind Bogey Hills, just of off Muege Road. Let me know when you guys want to get together.
