That looks like FUN!!!! What kind is it?? How fast???

I use to go to Smithville until the Water Patrol pissed me off!! They would follow me around waiting for me to go fast, be loud, or do the slightest thing wrong. That was a coupld of boats ago, but I still don't go there. We now go to Lake Perry in Kansas when we can't make it to LOTO!!

I use to go to smithville a couple of years ago. A few friends of mine still do. I avoid it also because of the water patrol now.

Same here. Since we got the place at LOTO last year we never made it to Smithville. Water patrol was a pain in the a$$ up there. Still have several friends that go and hang out there.

How fast is fast? A couple of years ago I had the second fastest boat at Smithville from bridge to bridge.

I went once last year and got pulled over. I do like the area where you can beach your boat though. I used to hang out with Tommy and the gang several years ago. I have a freind who hangs out up there now, Mike Ortiz 232 Rinker (looks like Tommies)and has a Parachute he pulls from time to time.

Hey guys I hear you about the water cops...Parrot is one of my favorites...He likes to follow me around and just loves to give out those vessel inspections...Did you all hear of some water pigs getting run off Smithville for harrassment? I never heard the details and I only made it out there a handful of times last summer due to other obligations.

Hi KC, I have seen your HTM there and maybe even talked to you before. My Mirage will run right at 113 topend with the 28p being the largest prop in the collection as of now. It will run 95 in 1/4mile with my 24p. Do you have to be on the water a certain amount of weekends to be the fastest? There are 4 wacka boats that make it out on Smithville that will run into the 120-130 topend range, but weeknights workout best for this...If this was on a weekend up the main channel the length of your HTM would be needed. Who was/is the fastest?
So what are the specifics of your HTM? I like the flames, looks like it is running 100 just sitting there.
A couple years ago (5 maybe) I saw a guy in an American Offshore up there with twin blown 525s...I think he said it would run 130ish but he wouldn't race my wacka boat (I'm glad)...That was a bad boat.
I have been boating on Smithville since they dammed it up, the water cops do suck, but it is close to my home so that is usually the first place I go. I am open to new waters though. Maybe this summer I can get a another boat to explore in, I have 3 now and the are all raceboats.

Brian, It was a fun group to hang out with up there!! Heck, we use to go there on Saturday, leave the boat in the water after a day of hanging out at the beach, then go home get ready and go to Woody's then after they closed down, head back to the boat to crash. Then get up sunday and head to the beach again!!!

99, let us know about the patrol situation, if a couple of them were run off, maybe the new ones won't be so bad. Oh, and head to Perry in the mean time, believe me it's worth it!!!

The boat you are talking about is a Spectra(sp) I know who you are talking about he will not race anyone. Back in the day when I hung out there the fastest on the weekends that I remember was Ronnie in his 42ft Fountain with triple 500hps. Did you have a red jet boat with a ProCharger a few years back?

Ya remember who told you how to get your pretty pink boat to run 5mph faster. See you at Perry this year. It will be done soon.

The boat ran 105 in the cat shootout in Powerboat mag in 97, 87.9mph in Hotboat, 93 in the LOTO shootout and 65mph on the trailer for the last two years. Six motors later it may keep up with a few bajas at Perry. This summer it should run an honest 55 since that is as fast as she will let me drive. The boat is for sale getting back into drag racing if you know someone looking J.

Hey KC...
What type of dragracing? Car or boat?
Sorry to hear of your trouble with your motors...Were these blower issues? Sounds like it wasn't running too bad.
This is why I like to run the "clamp-ons" If you blow one, just undo the clamps and kick it in the drink and clamp on another...you barely have to get your hands dirty...

Nope I had a Black Hydrostream with an outboard that would run in the 80's and never hit 90mph.

It has been a few years since I have been on Perry, Maybe I need to check it out.
