2005 Event is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2005. Thank you for everybody that entered in the 2004 event. We ended up raising $2,540.00 for Make A Wish Foundation. The money raised granted one child a trip to Disney World. This year please help up raise double for the Make A Wish foundation, so we may grant two children there wish. This is what I need from all of you, is some sugestions on the 2005 Rally. We have talked about raising the entry to 75.00 per hand, one to raise more money and two so everyone will recieve a event T Shirt. Your feed back on this would be a great help. We also are looking for sponsor's for the event, if interested please contact me at anytime. Thank you, Rome

I'm Ok with $75 per hand. Was a fun event last year with the exception of the rain and even that wasn't too bad.

See you in June.

$75 is a little steep for my blood, but we sure had a good time last year. For some reason I didn't get many pictures?

I guess if you are going to throw in a shirt it's not that big of a bump - just think your going to have the whole MWBP crew at this event!

Eddie quit yer bitchn, last year we walked away with $400 worth of batteries, ropes, sweatshirts, calendars, and other goodies from the raffle. I would pay $75 to do it. (btw didnt we split that cost last year anyway???)

Lets see if Rome recognizes any of these pics, from the winners of the "Best Crew" award.

eddie, little K, BSB, JFTB, Gina and ASH.

You were there last year. Here you are heading for the event with a hot motor. Thanfully the boys at Wilbus had time to take a peek at the raw water pump and make a quick diagnosis for you.

You were there last year too. Isnt this your boat??? more like wasnt that your boat????? You better start shopping Mike if you are going to make the poker run. If you need someone to get you a loan I can prolly hook you up with a lender.

A few other random pics of us loading up BSB's boat and milling around in front of Wilbus before the run.

Yeah, the guys at Wilbus were great. They took a quick look at it and said they thought we would be good for the run. We were and we had a great time. Can't wait to do it again!

We had a great time... and $75 is OK. Seems a little steep, but it's hard for me to complain when I walked away with fourth and $350 last year... everyone will be excited for a poker run in early June, so $75 will sell.

Mike , ive noticed that!!
still trying to figure out how you do it.
im sure your not losing money on those boats.
do they depreciate alot more in the winter months so you avoid the hit?
not paying interest over the winter saves $ too.
whats your secret?
the only boat i kept for only one summer (28 Sunsation) i made money on even after paying all the taxes , insurance , gas , etc. etc. i did however get lucky when i bought it as it was underpriced at the time.

i dont know about you or others for that matter but i actually enjoy shopping for boats. its a sickness i tell yaa.

within a few months of buying something im already looking for the next money pit.

heres a pic of what im interested in now
if i buy one i have a feeling it will be a blast but also hard to sell when im tired of it.

Steve,

Sweet boat, I wouldn't mind owning a bat boat myself some day. Yea might be a little hard to sell but the cool factor would be very high and always someone out there looking for something unique.

I think I am on my last boat for a while. I swore it would last me 10 years so I give it 3  . I love boat shopping until I get to the 4th or 5th boat then it starts to get a little old when they aren't what people say.

I am going to have to have a little work done to this boat but I think it is solid overall and that is the most important.

Starts at Franky & Louie's and ends there. Other stops are the same as last year, Glencove Yacht Club, Big Dicks, Salty Dog, Pirates Point, Mariners pier 31.

We will probably go in the order we did last year, hit Dicks first and have lunch (maybe hit Pirates point on the way since it is so close to pier 31) and then get the rest on the way back.

There will be no rain.

We will be there in the Cig (Ash did you really think I wouldn't have a boat by then? ) Since this is a tough year for us geting to the lake I am looking forward to the run. Will be Nikki and I and our friends Jason and Sheri.

Damn I'm glad somebody mentioned this on OSO! Knew I'd find some more conversation and information on it over here! I've never been to the Lake, and have no freakin' idea where to go or what to do....looks like $75 might just solve that problem! I'll be staying at Lakeview Resort in Sunrise Beach (11 mm)...is Frankie and Louie's on the other side of the lake (Osage)? Also, can I sign up at the event, or do I have to get off my ass and make a phone call? It'll be my first day in our new boat (bought from Raymonds), so don't laugh too hard when I'm trying to dock her....it's gonna be difficult to get used to left hand throttles and shifters! I'd love to meet some of the local crew...don't be afraid of the pasty white Chicagoans in the red 35 Fountain "Hammer Time." Hope to see you there.

we are doing everything we can to get my boat finished for this run, My motor guy will be driving my boat and I will be in the helicopter with james shooting high definition video of the run.

For the people that have never had a helicopter taking pics of them, put beers down when you see the helicopter and wave to us, and if you are going to take a pic of the helicopter do it when we are taking pics of other boats.

and for the really good shots trim your drives a little higher to make your boat jump higher off the wakes when you see us next to you.

What time do you guys want to hook up and lets get a plan going for this run. [smilie=trink39]

LK and I are whoring with BSB and Jen again and need a target time..... to be late for...... [smilie=126.gif]

I think the run starts at 11:00 at Wilbus Marine (or at F&L??) with registration at 10:00. We need to register a couple extra hands, so we will be there around 10:00.

Big Dicks for lunch, sounds good to us. We were thinking about this schedule...

Pirates Point
Pier 31 (or is this first?)
Big Dicks
Salty Dog (maybe a run thru PC)
Glencove
back to F&L

We will probably do Pirates point on the way to dicks and pier 31 on the way back since they are so close together, it give a bit of a break on the way to Salty Dog.

But Pier 31 is before you make the turn to go north to Pirates Point.

Everyone please take a second and respond to the sticky post at the top of this forum about the headcount for the Fun Run. F&L's and Wilbus are trying to make sure they have enough food for everyone.

Thanks

Yeah, Since ours was suppose to be done and here in time for the run but isn't, they are providing us with a boat to use. It's a 27 Advantage as well. Got your PM. Will give you a call once we are down.

We will be down EARLY Friday morning, have to go to a event in Omaha Thursday nite so probably won't leave till 2-3am. We will probably leave the kids home Friday nite and do some partying.

We might head over to Pier 31 or Pirates cove for a drink and to catch a few of you runnin' through then maybe head up to F&L's Sat. night for the festivities. That sounds good to us. If I remember right I think Cyn still has a BT to wax. She is going to have a few to choose from. I think there will be at least 6 BT's making the run, A 32 Outlaw and possibly a 38 Special.

The number continues to grow as the day rolls on.

think we were going to hit Glencove then Pirates point then Big Dick's. Lunch is still undecided.
