Dr. SoS has decreed that the Sutphen's stereo be upgraded this year. Currently we have a Panasonic tape head unit and Alpine Speakers... looks to be the original..

I would ask Scott or Ruben, (because they are the only ones that I trust) but they are way to busy to bother with putting in a stereo.

Anyone out there have any suggestions?

The boat is at the lake at CP&R and will be there for the winter and probaly into the spring...

Lets face it,,, girls like music to dance to and guys like girls that dance to music and so on and so on and so on.....

Get a deck that is either satelite radio compatable (Sirius and XM have some amazing programs now), or that plays mp3 and regular cd's.

Mike from Missouri Bell telecom in Greenview did mine. He did a good job at a good price, and well I haven't blown anything yet. He will come to where your boat is and do the install.

We put a mp3 player on our boat last year and it did not skip even out on the main channel. [smilie=657.gif]

Buy an apple ipod. you can connect it to any Radio or stereo. just load all your cd's on it (10,000 songs or more) it will never skip and you can make playlists. the options are endless. Also you can store all your LOTO digital pics on it. I can go on and on. I love mine and wish I bought it earlier in the summer. check it out online.

The iPod is the best music gadget ever!
I just wish I could find a deck that had component jacks so I could plug the iPod in directly.
Right now, it plays through an FM transmitter so it sometimes gets static.
I also haven't found a good place for the iPod to ride (other than the glovebox, which sucks!)

Plenty Amps in nice cool places.

Dedicated Gel with a Power capacitor beteen amps and battery. You will have to do some creative wiring to the battery switch so your engine, or engines will only charge one battery at a time, or add a voltage regulator.

Separate amps for mains and subs.

Cross over your small speakers at 250 up, or High pass only to keep the bass signals from poping them. (Usually the ones on the side Gunwales.

JL audio makes awesome amps. Wish I could afford them...

This setup took me 2 seasons.

I'm not a pro, I just learned this from talking to the guys who had great sounding systems in their boats.

Good Luck!
