2 months and nothing said in this forum, I guess I'll post something...
Last week I decided it was time to upgrade my camera body- my 5 year old Rebel XT just isn't cutting it anymore. I really want a 5D, but just can't justify spending that much for just a hobby. I'd rather put my money into lenses.
I came across a good deal on a Canon 40D, talked him down a little which made it an even better deal. I had to buy his 28-135 IS kit lens and bag to get the deal done, so I did. Only 345 shutter actuations!!!
I am pretty impressed with my slight upgrade. It handles low light much better, takes 6fps, many more custom options, and the overall quality of picture is better, despite only increasing 2MP. Plus, the 3" screen helps a ton with viewing the photos just after they are taken.
I'm looking to sell the 28-135 IS lens. I am very impressed with the lens, considered keeping it, but don't really need it since I have the 24-70 2.8L. If anyone is interested, let me know. It is a great upgrade from the 18-55 that most people get with the Rebel lineup.
I haven't shot much besides household items and a handful of photos at a wedding reception, but I've probably already doubled the shutter count. No great photos to post yet.
