Ran down to Porter, TX Friday morning to pick up our new pit. Got back last night and seasoned her up this morning. Once she was seasoned I threw a few slabs and a bird on her to try her out. here are a few pics.

looks awesome - although.... the wind must have been blowing the wrong direction today, because I didn't smell anything...

did you at least call Shane or K-Dog while you were there?

No, We got in to Porter around 6:00. Got a bit cleaned up and met one of Cathy's gf and her husband for dinner. Then up by 7:00 for a bit of breakfast, then hooked up and made the trek back home.Just a quick trip down and back up. I'll post more pics of the insides of her this evening or at lunch.

Good looking pit Glenn. I may have to look at moving back into the camp ground gonna be some good grub this year.

That's not mine.... It's Cathy's. She got it back in Sep. We drove it to the campground after we got it but I guess you weren't there that weekend.

Now that's for some serious bbq.....keep in mind it's just a 10 min waverunner ride when dinner is served! Have you met the Newcombers at Bull Run yet. They tell me they are hanging out there now?

I saw there was a Q there and also in Washington. Thought about heading to Washington to check things out on Sat. Now that I have this I've thought about maybe trying out some comps.

But maybe I should head over to JC instead.

Yes, we've met them. They have been here at BR for a few years. Bear (Rodney) knows them as well. Live in the same town. How do you know them?

I'll have the pit with me most times we're at the Lake. I'll let you know when dinner is.

Glad I got you my new number before we came to St Charles. I'll make sure to keep the phone close on the weekends now :mrgreen:
