For you big dawgs out there what are your opinions of Lang Smokers. I'm interested in picking up a 60. Not sure if I'd get the Original or Deluxe.

They are nice for an offset, but if I were going to get another smoker, I would look at another jedmaster or a geer pit. The geer pits are very nice for an offset.
I still say look at the FEC from cookshack, once you become a pellet head, you will NEVER look back :)

Checked out the Jambo pits from Geer. Yes, they are nice but I'm not cooking comps so their pricing is out of my range. I know some folks dislike the Lang and others rave about it. I guess it's like anything. But for the money I guess they are a good bang for the buck. I understand they do use a bit more wood than others but if the next best unit is $3000 more than I can live with the Lang as $3000 buys a lot of sticks , not counting the free sticks I can gather.
Christian, you'll be happy to know that your old upright as gone to my neighbor and your old horizontal is going to my brother. I'm running it down to him this spring since he lives in Atlanta. The smokers just keep cooking meat!

Love my FEC! and Both my WSM's they will cook as well as any big dog. Next purchase is the UDS, with the Cynful Smokers Logo on it. Will put that baby out front at vending events.

Keep an eye open when you are down at the lake as wood can be had alot cheaper than in town. If you need there is a guy on EE that sells strickly oak.
