There were several articles out identifying the benefits of drinking a glass of red wine a day...which really can't be all bad. Red is our favorite wine to eat with and you can't have a steak without a glass of wine. I'm sure like everything else, "every thing in moderation." Although, I'll be the first to admit it, an evening with a good wine can be really painful the next day. Yes, I'm talking more than one glass....bottle...whatever. For me, it's one of the worst hangovers... :oops:but when it's time to sit down for dinner, wine is always there. We even have a built in wine cooler in the kitchen.

Yes, wine is good for you, and in moderation. It has something to do with the antioxidants. I'm not sure exactly why, but that's what the 'experts' say. :)

As for headaches... Sweet wines will give you a worse headache than dry wines, the reasoning is the amount of sugar in the wines that affects your cells.

Cheers,

I thought it was wines with high tanins that caused the headaches, which is why reds give you a worse hangover than whites.

I don't think the tannins are directly related to hangovers, but how "dry" the wine is. I know a few people that are intolerant to the tannins, so they can't drink any reds. I've always heard that the sweeter wines, especially the ones with added sugars, are the ones that give you the nasty headaches.

We are not big wine drinkers, but will most always have a glass with dinner or as a nightcap.

When the Wife gets some "whine" I just make her a Crown & Seven and she's good to go.

For me, Bud Light goes with both fish and steak. [smilie=trink39]

It was supposed to be one glass a day maximum - I think red, also thins the blood or something, I don't drink it,

all I know is my old girlfriend could never stop at one glass - always seemed to be a bottle by the end of the night.

I think it is the sulfites in the wine that cause the headaches and hangovers. All wines have sulfites in them but good organic red wine ( I recommend Our Daily Red ) will have no added sulfites and will usually not give you a headache or hangover. Believe me I know..

Wine is good wiskey's good, beer is good, quantity? It just depends on how much it takes to make you feel GOOD! I don't drink to be healthy, or for the taste, I drink to alter my state of mind. If you don't, you should try it. I'm just sayin' $hredder[smilie=crazy]
