Anyone on here Duck Hunt? Most of the guys I hunt with are in the K.C. area and I am always looking for someone around St Louis to hunt with. The people I do know here can only hunt the weekends, since I work from home I like to hunt everyday but like to have a partner when going on the river.

I've been looking for a place to hunt for a while here. I usually go to Arkansas and hunt about 12 days there. Just never cruised the river here (nor do I have the boat to) to find a place locally. If I'm invited, sure. I work from home as well, but most hunts are over early enough to work the rest of the day.

I'm pretty gung ho about it....well, on normal years, this year just sucks weather wise. Been chasing deer so far. I save a bunch of vacation days for those 30mph NW wind days!! Do you have a riverblind and boat? Ever hunted Mark Twain? It can be good. Keep me in the loop, we can try the river sometime or poor line it at Shanks or Eagle Bluffs.

We have a river blind about a mile north of the Clarksville Dam and I have access to a boat whenever needed. Everywhere has been slow so far this year but we are supposed to have a NW wind the next few days and hopefully things will change.

I will shoot you guys a PM with my number and if the ducks ever come down we can try it during the week sometime. The guys I have the blind with of course have first dibs on the weekends but if there is an opening I will let you know.

knocked down three bluebills with one shot sat. other than that only 1 gadwall. right now our blind is dry until the pool comes back up, and the way the IL river looks it might be some time

Shot some Widgeon, Mallards, pintail and gadwall on Friday at Maris. Went to the river on Saturday to find our pool dry? Hope this rain helps bring the levels back up before they start to migrate.

I have deer hunted for years but never duck hunted; I would love to learn if you wanted an apprentice!

Got crops out in our lease last Thursday.....started pumping Friday, started raining Saturday.....we're full!!! Now, the ducks need to find it. There is so much water around in fields that haven't been harvested it's going to be an interesting year.

This is true. If you drive around the fields in St. Charles county it looks like Arkansas without the rice. And ducks scattered everywhere.

Ala '93. I had great hunts in Arkansas until '93. Seems the ducks got reprogrammed and now hit Nw Arkansas and split there to Mississippi and Texas. It's been rough hunting since then.

Hunted 4 Rivers on the West side of the state. MDC reported 89000 ducks. I think 88995 were staying on the refuge. 1st time ever I have goose egged. There is so much habitat for the ducks right now. Combine that with the weather...ducks aren't moving. I have had much better luck hunting the afternoons and evenings.

The mallards are here! The freeze line moved below KC last week. 3 of us hunted Montrose. I shot a limit, partner shot 4, and one other shot 5....I hate to say it but we were there sunup to sundown...but it was worth it!

We have been knocking the heck out of Geese around here (Leavenworth County) and a few ducks earlier in the season. Last week I went on a guided hunt down by Neosho Wildlife Area and saw more ducks than I had ever seen in my life. Sad part, they were 1/2 mile away but we still got 4.

Father in-law has not even gone out to geese hunt. Everything is frozen over up there and geese get heading south. Amazing what 50 or so miles will change. I told him he needs to come south they are everywhere down here. Where abouts do you hunt Brad?

just returned from stuttgart, arkansas. hunting was fair. water everywhere and plenty of ducks however scattered in the fields. They have been putting the hurt to the geese around here, will try to hunt this weekend.

Over by tongy, the big snow storm shut us down for a while then it got too muddy, but I'm going out in the morning!! Our pond froze pretty thick this year, I really need to get my ice eater fixed...

Don't see too many bracelets anymore with all the geese these days.
