Last week when we were down, Jr. caught a 25" largemouth bass (and another 21" one). We don't have a scale, but we measured it before releasing it back into the lake. When looking at charts on the internet, it tells us that the fish weighed between 9.5 and 9.75 pounds! I'll post a pic when I find it.

It was caught about 25 feet from our back door with a 4" floating plug in a silver color. The fish just sucked it under. He was fishing in about 6 feet of water in the roped off beach area at our complex (we catch alot there as the wind blows a bunch of chit in there). I think that he has already caught bigger fish in ever species that I have caught in my life.

Here is a pic of the bass (not the best pic but all I had was my cell phone), a paddlefish (one of three) he caught at LOTO in the spring, ad a couple of smallmouth from a Canada trip a few weeks back.

It is amazing that while Cody and I (mainly Cody [smilie=106.gif] ) are catching 3-5 pound bass in our cove, all the bass boat guys leaving PB2 at 75 mph think they need to scream up the lake for miles on end. We have thought about entering one and just fishing our cove.

The thing is they all release them at PB2 and they swim back to your cove. I have a friend around the corner from ya and he catches em all the time off his dock.

I've fished many tournaments out of PB2 and you are right...they all fly up the lake as hard as they can. We simply fished the bluff across from The Moorings until dark, anchored out and slept from about midnnight to 4 am, then hit the bluffs and stretch of shoreline across from Party Cove. We'd get a limit every time. Never big enough to be in the $, but we'd usually cull at least 10 fish between those 2 spots. Lots of fun.
