View Full Version : LOTO Harbour Hop, October 9-10

I am wondering if this group is putting anything together for the LOTO Harbour Hop on October 9-10. The Fun Run prior to the Shoot out was a great time, and it would be great to see the same type of organized run for Harbour Hop.

We'll be there. A Franky and Louies run would be fun, they may not be as crowded this time of year. If they are open late in the season? Count us in for whatever the group wants.

We will be there!!! [smilie=071.gif] Not sure on the plans right now. What does everyone have in mind? [smilie=1062.gif] I think we might run up the Gravois arm this year. There are a few bars in there we have never been to. Plus there is AJB's bar and grill, they usually have a special on beer (it's free for the taking) as long and someone else doesn’t gets there before us. [smilie=011.gif]

Absolutely [smilie=071.gif] Should be my last run of the season  Considering I've only run my boat 3 times now due to some [smilie=450.gif] steeling my drives  Anyways I am going to try and stay at the 8mm myself, but at this time of year I like sleeping the boat anyway, so I may just be anywhere once the [smilie=1062.gif] gets to me [smilie=1056.gif]

We should get a roll call going and then try and plan groups runs to the next stop.

We will be down. I would like to meet up with the group.

Spent last weekend on a poker run at the lake. Went through 225 gallons and put it back on the lift with no problems. Knock on wood!
Had one leg from F & L (10mm) to Moonies (62mm). Made it in around 40 minutes. It did take a little gas to get there.

Just found out!! Were in!!!
Kid is going to grand-ma's!!
So it will be Carrie and I and another couple Jeremy and Liz that have the Donzi at Lake Perry, They decided to leave their boat at home and will be riding with us!! We'll be there from Thursday night to Saturday evening, then head back to catch the NASCAR race on Sunday!!

Hope the weather holds out!!

Like Grumpy said a run up the Gravois Arm, would be cool!! ('Cause Big Dicks is a 100 mile trip for us round trip) That's where we stay at the 5 1/2 of the Gravois at my parents place. Were just in the mouth of Soap Creek Cove on the (south) left side "house with a heart on" it and a slide on the dock!!

Tanned-
Count me in for both!

I haven't been to Docknocker's for crab legs since last Friday, but I'll be ready by then again. [smilie=061.gif]

We could do a pre-run thing at the dock, and finish at F & L's........whatever works. [smilie=042.gif]

TFLB - Ask Zombie if he is having a party on AJBS dock, I think he has all the say in what goes on at the dock.  well at least the beer on the dock! [smilie=1056.gif]

We will probably head up to the bars in the Gravois arm. Then run by the toad and make the last stop at F&L' s.

Grumpy--- What mile marker you at? Otherwise it sounds like most of us are all in the same neighborhood, relatively speaking of course. Could be quite a nice little pack running around together [smilie=1062.gif] [smilie=1074.gif]

We are at the 17 MM. We don’t get to the Gravois Arm very often that’s why we are going hit a few bar's in there for the hop.

Any one know if Frog's and Paradise point is a good place to stop? I am thinking Time out, Dummy, Frog's, Paradise point, The Horny Toad and last stop Frank and Louie’s. [smilie=1062.gif]

Any other suggestions?

AJB
09-21-2004, 04:30 PM
Grumpy-
I wouldn't bother with Frog's. Dummy and Time Out are easy choices, as they are right around the corner from the house.

In years past we stopped at Kelly's Port. They used to always have a keg tapped and bratwurst and dogs on the grille. I don't know if they still participate, though.

Shogorowe - They show it on the check point list. did something happen to it recently?

Shogorowe
09-21-2004, 05:31 PM
Yea they were leasing it from the 3 pigs owner, then he ran it to the ground so the owner of 3 pigs took it back over and is open sporadically now. So I don’t know if the place will be open or not but Tina’s Marina will be open across the way. [smilie=1056.gif]

Kelly's has had free food and beer the last several years, i'm guessing they will this year too. I saw what I think is a new place across the lake from Glencove (2.5 or so mm) that has Tikki bar and palm trees and stuff, I want to stop there.

If you go to the Bait and Bagle, check out the huge house just to the West of it. That's a Bed & Breakfast called the Gardenhouse BNB that is run by some really good frinds of ours. Unfortunately, I believe they have sold it for next season, so if you get a chance to stay there, it is definitely worthwhile!

If we need a place to meet on Sat. am. We could use my dock in Back Water Jacks cove. Just a thought , let me know? [smilie=042.gif]

That works great for us (JMS & I) since, as you know, we're right across the lake from you, @ the 17 mm.

I'm going to wait and see what the weather is going to do before I do the six hour drive w/the boat  They are saying 77 in Omaha on Saturday [smilie=061.gif]

That's my deal too. Except 9 hours. One way. [smilie=106.gif]

We are going to KC Friday night, so Saturday would morning would be easy to make.
Saliva is playing in KC Saturday night, would like to catch that show too.

Anyone know what the weather is going to do? Right now it says isolated t-storms, no big deal.

Since I'm in the Gravois, I'll probably just meet up with everyone when they get up there!! Someone else mentioned the Dummy around 11:30a.m. that's sounds good for me!!

For you pep's meetin' up at Hell ya's dock, what time you going to try and hit the Gravois?? Heck, if you meet up around 11:00a.m. you could meet us at the dummy around 11:30!

Someone asked for directions to the Dummy...
It's at about the 6 1/2mm of the Gravois on the right hand side of the the main part!! It's just past Time-Out on the same side, and just before Kelly's Port!!

Since no one is stepping to plate with a time, I guess I will.

We should leave Hell Ya's at 11:00am and head to the Dummy. Coffee & Bloody Marys starting at 10:00 or so. That should give everyone a pretty wide time zone.
How does that plan sound to everyone?

It looks like Hell Ya has done an outstanding job of putting together a great day......it also sounds like there are 2 separate groups that will be running together.

We are going to get to the lake around 1030 on Saturday, be on the water by 11. We are at the 1mm, and would like to meet the group planning on running up to the Gravois Arm. If possible, we would like to catch up with you at the Dummy, and then make the rest of the card stops along with everyone else. Hell Ya, what time do you think you will be getting up to this end of the lake? We are in a 312 Formula named Michael's Angels, and will keep an eye out for you.

mb, if we leave our dock around 11:00, we should be hitting the entrance to the Gravoise Arm around 11:20. That is my best guess anyway. I'm not sure where the Dummy is , maybe some one else can give you that info.??

Never, Never, Never plan yor boating around the word of a weather forcaster. When have you ever known these guys to be right. They get paid even when they are wrong.

By their forecast last weekend should have been a rainout. We had a great day on Saturday with BSB, Amer3, Hell Ya and a couple other boats running up to the Mariners 31 and then to PC(even though we were about the only 6 boats there). On Sunday the weather was even nicer. We would have skipped a trip to the lake if we would have believed the rainy forecast and missed a nice weekend. I can't and will not guarantee good weather, but I'd rather be at LOTO in the rain than anywhere else.JMO [smilie=011.gif]

JC after three weeks of having it apart I’d rather use it than have it sit in a slip because it’s raining. I’d love to come down and see you all again for one more weekend, I don’t think this is a good weekend to do it. I’m not normally one that needs to be talking into going to LOTO, but I like to boat and I don’t think I’ll get much boating in if I come down.
