I may be participating in the BBQ contest in Eldon on June 26-27th (depends on lake time and friends coming down to the lake) Anyway, I usually get my meat for contest at a local Sam's club, is there a Sam's club in Jeff City, or is the one in Columbia the closest one to the lake?

Are their any private butcher's in the lake area?

I will probably bring my brisket with, since it will be aged, but I wouldn't mind saving some space and getting my ribs, pork butt and chicken locally.

Hey seiowan,

Your setting close to the very best outlet for pork, especially ribs, Swift packing Marshalltown Ia. As for beef, now that the price spread between choice and select has narrowed, you may find choice at the a couple of the spots mentioned above. Do your home work, they will use select when nobody is looking.

One thing to keep in mind, that you are used to cooking certain meats from the same place, so if it were me I would pack in my meat. I have bought meat local before and it just didn't "cook" the same.
