HOLY CRAP! Just got back from the MTI facilities. Had a little tour with Randy Scism and his crew. WOW, is all I can say.

Here's a little boat we looked at. 55' with quadruple 1075's Customer wanted to be able to run 140's, Randy thought he said 150's so needless to say, the customer is happy now. They tested this recently, and they say it will out accelerate almost any race boat on the water, snaps your head back and doesn't let up.

I will post more pics later.

Is that Jawz?

Yes it is. The owner wanted the paint and colors to be the same as the old Jawz which is why it looks a little dated.

Did you happen to get a measurement of the bussel? :D

i think i might be mad tho if i wanted to run 140's & 2 of the 1075's would have got me there. But i guess if you got the coin to buy a 55'er, 2 extra 1075's isnt gonna break the bank. wife just may not be able to buy any shoes for the month.

That's funny, that was my first thought too. They claim they're actually fairly efficient motors (relatively speaking) WOT they get 1 mpg. Crap, that's about what I get in the 38 at 3/4 throttle! [smilie=106.gif]

BDM

Wait.

They EACH get 1 mpg? or cumulatively they get 1 mpg?

Because if it's EACH, then wouldn't that be 1/4 mile per gallon? You're approaching drag strip shit then...

Either way, I would NOT want to pay that fuel bill.

I bet 1/4 is more like it. Just basing this off of Bob Morgan's 46 with quad 1100's.

In an hour long race, he can cover roughly 120-130 miles and he will burn through about 600 gallons, give or take.

Of course that is WOT most all the way. Could be they are talking cruising speeds with this boat.

1075's burn about 60-70 gph at wot, so at 150, you would be getting about .53-.625 mpg at wot and probably around 1 mpg at 110-120 mph.

yeah I would think WOT would use close 400 gallon an hour, but hey, leave the dam, run 150 be at big dicks in 20 minutes, have a cool drink, run to party cove, 10 minutes, say hey to butt cheese, run to coconuts 15 minutes, back to shady gators 5 minutes then back to dam, not a bad day boating, LOL

I get about 1 in the 38 as well . only at 1/2 throttle, bit I weigh more than jeff and his entire crew.[smilie=106.gif]

Real or close numbers are from the dam to Big Dicks in 18-19 minutes:mrgreen:

I ran from Dock Knockers to Big D's in 19;)

1075's are going to burn about 90-100 gallons per engine at WOT. With correct AF ratios, you divide the HP by about 11. The formula is pretty close for all engines. It takes a certain amount of fuel to make a certain amount of horsepower.

496HO(425hp)/11=38.6gph
500EFI/11=45gph

That should be very accurate.

If you dont want to fry your brain with math, my grandfather always told me that as a rough guide you could move the decimal point on spot to the left and it is a good close estimate but usually on the high side.

496HO(425hp) = 42.5gph
500EFI (470hp) = 47.0gph

That boat is 55ft of awsome, but at 400 gph thats 6.6 gallons per minute
How fast do gas gas pumps flow? if they do flow at 6.6 gpm that would be equal time boating and filling back up.
a good problem to have if you can afford it!
