Thinking about buying a bus for a tow vehicle. Not a short bus or school bus, but a old Prevost/MCI/VanHool/Eagle. Whatcha think?

I know, no friends. I was thinking more of using it for a motorhome. It would be a super bitch to back a boat down the ramp, wouldn't it.

lots of ramps would be big issue but many would enjoy watching,, also have seen them things almost stuck on wet pavement would really suck on some wet ramps and the semi tractors I have often seen spin their tires alot takeing boats in and out

All you have to do is drop the air bags on the tractor. It moves allot of the weight to the drives. Just pull out really slow or slip someone a 20 to pull it out with there pickup.

Forget towing the boat behind it, just sell the boat and buy this! Boat plus Motorhome.

It is a pimped out limo bus. Put this number in the search bar on ebay. 120413170042
I'm not thinking about using it full time as a tow vehicle, just for long trips. Mainly just want one & need to justify owning it by saying it can tow, not that it would.
It would make a good vehicle for the KC party too! As long as it had dual train horns on it!

Very cool!! Unfortunately it would be illegal if the boat-bus combination was over 65 feet (if you are seriously considering it for tow purposes)....not to be a buzzkill.. just an FYI...
I say buy it for a party bus!!!

Actually I was wrong.. I looked it up to make sure, as there were a few changes in the law last year.. The new maximum limit is 75'...
Just put a bail of hay in it and declare it is for agrucultural purposes, there are way to many ag exemptions to keep up with.. youll be ok!!!

NO SHIT! I always seem to be on the wrong side of the law. Always! I do like that "agricultural" gray area idea. Gray is my favorite shade of the law!

I found it, and like it, h$ll it's big enough to cut a hole in the back and run the boat right up inside.... and still have a room for a lot of peeps.
Go and buy it and come up and take me for a ride.
That thing is 'BIG PIMPIN' written all over it..

Backing it down the ramp would be a recipe for high centering the bus.
Saw that happen with a big diesel pusher a few years ago at a lake here in Nebraska.

We have a 45 foot prevost that used to be Pam Tilis' Tour bus... We love it, only problem with towing with it is clearance going down ramps. They sit really low so any ramp that is steep you wont have enough clearance... The bus is other than the boat my most favorite toy. Good Luck.

It would be illegal with the length first of all. Secondly it would be very difficult driving into any parking lot or even getting fuel. I have a hard time pulling 46' trailer behind a large pickup truck let alone a motorcoach. I think you would not be able to make any street corners with a rig that long. A long wheelbase motorcoach is insane for corners now add the extra radius you need with a long boat. Not possible on normal roads.
Oh, a Prevost would be the big Pimping rig to pull a boat, go for it.

I'm looking at RV's for pulling my boat as well. I'm supposed to look at a 34 footer tonight. The boat trailer is about 30'. That puts me close to the 65' limit in Nebraska. It wouldn't be the primary tow vehicle. They would only be used together 2 or 3 times a year when we camp at a lake. We always camp with friends so I'm counting on them to launch/ retrieve the boat with a truck. It sucks making 2 trips now to get the camper trailer and boat somewhere. You've got me thinking twice about it now.
I don't want to hijack your thread Jason. Just saying you can possibly get someone else to put your boat in and out of the water once you get it there. I don't know if any marinas will do that for a fee? That's a sweet party bus! [smilie=trink39]

The better buses to own are not the daycoaches as you were looking at there but an "Entertainer" coach. That is what we have. It has 12 beds and a shower and bathroom, Big generator house air and a Detroit Diesel Engine. Prevost makes the best coach with the most longevity. Ours has 900,000 miles and we just now had to put a rebuilt motor in it. The nice part of the entertainer is you get 2 lounges with the beds in the middle. Front loung for people to kick back and take it easy and a party lounge in the back. If you need a contact on where to get one or just have questions feel free to PM me.

Just do it right and build it like ours. Who care about amenities when you can party on a moving deck?

Pic 2....Decorated for the local Christmas Parade. Took second place in the industrial division I might add. And yes, there were more than two entries. I believe we had over twenty other floats in our division. They never knew what hit 'em.
