Has anyone ever installed a car stereo in the shop or garage?
I am updating the entire stereo in my boat and have a perfectly good Kenwood head unit and some speakers that will be left over.
I am considering hooking them up in my garage.
My question is how good will reception be? Will I need to run some type of antenna outside of the garage?

standard antenna from o'reilleys etc should be dandy or you could just try a 57" piece of wire and see what that might get you.

I have always run mine off an old battery (i used a lawn tractor) and just had an old 1.5 amp charger hooked up to it and it made music and worked fine just unig stuff I had laying around

Thanks for the info. We have plenty of DC transformers in the shop as a bunch of our instrumentation uses DC voltage.
