That's Great !! I have seen every Shootout except 1. I used to live on the 24 mm and we could watch them mill around from our point. Back in the early days, there were some bad ass avery day lake boats running in the event. There was this guy that lived near Paradise towards Shooters, that kept about 6 - 55 gallon barrells of AV Gas on his dock. He would gas up with the AV Gas and run down and get in line to do his pass. Back then they ran towards the dam and turned around and ran back for a 2 way pass.

That may be, but they are a great great TV/radio presence, and one of them really knows his boats. ;)

Am I crazy or would it be cool to have a retro class at the Shootout??
Boats 20 or so years old. It would be cool to see older/owner built fast boats running down the track.
Dont get me wrong I love watching 2 million dollar turbine boats hit 209 mph, but it would be neat to see some older boats run hard too.
Just a thought.

I think thats a great idea Brett, would be cool to see more locals running stuff they pull off the lift every weekend like the old days.

Gald someone agrees....
There are some older boats out there that will hang right in with the new stuff.
I would love to see some old trip engine Fountains, Formula's, Scarabs and even old cats running hard.
For example hightechs 88 Baja runs in the mid 90's and is a blast to watch.

Agreed. We can't go to the shootout, but watch it on TV. It can be so bad, it is must see TV. They'll be talking about a run and the camera is on some hotties at the docks.
Once we move down, we'll look into volunteering.

Millers landing will have 110 for the shootout. It will be on its own dock and I am sure it will be priced well. If anyone is interested in millers having 110 all year send me a pm. we are working on getting a pump and a tank for one of my customers for next season it would help if I new of other people that would buy it also.

Sounds good !! No drinking for me while we're racing, but I'll have one with you after it's over, I think a crown on the rocks will work just fine.[smilie=trink39]
See you then [smilie=042.gif]
