Welcome to the Liquid Jungle..
You’re about to get wet..

Since 2003 the Liquid Jungle Poker Run has grown into the Upper Mississippi River’s premier boating event. This is a 100% for charity event, donating thousands of dollars annually to local children in need. This is a safe, professional, family friendly event for boaters of all types to enjoy.

Parkside Marina in scenic Wabasha Minnesota will be hosting the event. The Wabasha community offers ample gas, food and lodging options. Parkside Marina is a modern full service marina featuring newer well cared for ramps and docks, clean bathroom and shower facilities as well as over night slippage and sling service (please contact Parkside directly for slip and sling fee’s and reservations).

In addition to the exciting poker run there will be a visually stimulating motor sports show. This will be a “show what you brung” show featuring motorcycles, cars, and trucks from the area. Nowhere else will you find such a beautiful combination of sleek fiberglass, polished chrome, sexy paint and high horsepower motors all in one place. This will be a must attend for all motor sports enthusiast.

The on-the-water poker run course will be tailored to allow those who want to attend the show the time to do so. Pioneer Supper Club will be hosting a lunch buffet. There will be 3 on-water card stops and our traditional awe inspiring grand prix start on Lake Pepin. There will be food and refreshments available after the run while the sound of a local live band entertains everyone into the night.

I am happy it's in Wabasha this year. That's the boat ramp I am use to. It has lines to guide me in!! Plus I don't have to sleep in the boat this year. Got the camper down the road! It was hard climbing out of the boat to go pee at 3 am being a little tipsy and not fall off the boat!

Someone bringing the Apple pie?! YuMmY!!!

Can't wait!!

Sara, you can handle any boat at any ramp so there...

Also glad to hear that it is at Parkside...we have our reservations and will continue to do what we can to help the cause.

Come on warm, sun and hot sand :)

Great point brining up the boat ramps. Between Parkside's and the public ramp's right next door we're going to have more boat ramps and easy parking than we know what to do with. With 4 ramps and all that parking, it's going to make things very user friendly for participants this year!

I've also heard some rumbling of an informal Friday run to the Pickle Factory and raft up for those coming early. If people are planning to come early and boat Friday post your plans so you all can hook up. Us coordinating the run will be busy taking care of business Friday, but I encourage those who want to get into town early and go for a ride to do so.

I can't say I'm thrilled about the move, but do understand it (and my reasoning is a little selfish:) .... ) I AM thrilled about what is MISSING this year - you guys (and AmyJo) can do so much better without a certain individual... no drama, just a fact.

Glad you guys understand. We have thought about it for a while. It was always simple for the event to be at the campground. However, we are very excited about the move to Parkside, and looking forward to an off the hook weekend!

Sounds like a killer plan Mark. [smilie=appl] Parkside is Todd's dad's place right?

We're gonna do our damnest to make it this year. Seems like a major obstacle for me wont be an issue this year.

It used to be. It recently changed hands. The new owners have been Parkside regulars for years. In fact they have been river rats for a long time and poker run regulars and generous supporters since day one. So they all know what we are all about and they as well as the entire marina are VERY pumped for this.

The rat run is always the first Friday in May so this year it will be Friday May 1st. Just an FYI, it's a men only run so please don't come if you can't come without the wife. It's a very old tradition and should stay that way. Is May 1st early enough for you?

I would like to stress that this event is not an organized event.

A good portion of people leave from Parkside marina in Wabasha MN and a good portion leave from the Great River Harbor and campground in Alma WI. We all meet for breakfast at a place called the Pioneer Supper Club. We then proceed North to a beach on Lake Pepin, after a refreshing beverage and a lot of b.s. some of us head to Red wing for lunch, some go to the town of pepin for lunch, then back at the Pioneer club for more b.s. then back home. I my self have made it back home as early as 3pm and as late as 10pm
Cost is nothing to run, just put your fun hat on and come join the party.

Again this is not part of the Liquid Jungle Poker Run, or any other run just a good time out on the river.

Here's some past rat run reading. And again as WC212 stated, this run is in no way associated with the Liquid Jungle.
