LOL

I'm looking for 2 8" subs, and a good amp to push them. I don't wanna break the bank. ($500ish)

Would like at least 200Watt subs (RMS)

Mike and I have been discussin the possibilities.

I think I would like to find 2 4ohm subs, and us a mono amp at 2 ohms.

Any ideas?

What brands do you like, or dislike.

I've been very happy with my 10" Kicker Comp VR's.

8" will significantly limit your possibilities.

For an amp, get an Alpine PDX 1.600. About $300 on ebay for new one.

I had 4 Kicker 8" square subs in my last boat and they sounded like a pair of 12's.

I'd be willing to go with 10"s too. don't have the room for anything bigger

10's will give you a lot more possibilities.

I assume you have an idea of where you're going to install them. Do you have room to put them in a sealed box?????

I have a deal on 10" subs for 95.00 each 900 watt 192oz mag and a amp for 212.00 which is a D class mono block 2000 watt.

These are gonna go under my rear seat. I have aprox 11" depth, and 16" width. 12" tall. I've been looking at the kicker CVT subs. They any good?

That should be enough space if its for each sub.

Boxed subs will sound better, but if you want to keep it simple go with free air subs. Go with the marine JL's or Alpine 10's. They only need about 6" of depth. I used the Alpine's and am putting about 250 watts to them. They sound pretty good and are half the price of JL's. If I was going to use subs in boxes, I would probably go with some JL's.

I would post pics, but it wont let me post any links since I am a new member. I have a real nice setup, under my bench that is probably along the lines of what you are looking for.
