We need more info.

What are you trying to do? What kind of boat, etc.

ALL the details that you can give us.... Also, where are you located? Are you willing to haul the vehicle somewhere? or does the installer need to come to you?

Monterey 298 Sport Cuddy...Can't trailer it....work would have to be done at dock.....located near the Dam.....Boat has fiberglass arch....looking for new head unit, remotes, ipod plug, 2 to 4 additional speakers, amp, sub, etc...It currently has Kenwood unit.....but whoever owned the boat before me replaced it and now it is not compatable with the remotes on the dash and rear of the boat.....don't want to blow the budget, just get a decent sound without getting ripped off...

I agree with Griff. Bob, HiTechRedNeck, is probably your man.

The old saying you get what you pay for comes to mind. I've seen some of Waves and Wheels installs and they are amazing. When Hitech and I do a job it almost always under bid, it takes a ton of time to install a system. If you use the old wiring, to save time/money, and you have a problem it's a nightmare to find.

If you want a second opinion call Hitech at 402-616-6985

Just remember, you get what you pay for. I had Justin at Waves & Wheels add new speakers, subs, and two new amps in my 35. Well worth the price. The install was done on time, at my dock, and very neatly. Make sure your bids are apples to apples. They installed all new wiring also.

Yes, This is who I recommend to people. He does a great job, especially if you are looking for a high-end, very clean install. He has also done some other small jobs and fixes for some of our clients.

I'll post his number tomorrow.

Just make sure with all the other bids you receive, that you compare apples to apples. One thing about Waves and Wheels, if you have any problems, they stand behind their work 125%. Ive witnessed Justin showing up at a dock of a local bar just because a client's speaker stopped working. Mind you this was on a Saturday night at 10pm. Just something to consider.

I'll personally gaurantee you get what you pay for with Waves and Wheels. I'm pretty particular with who I let work on the Upper Hand. Justin at Waves and Wheels has won my business. Working on getting a boat to produce good sound is not luck, its an art.

I know he's running a fall special right now. If you havent talked to him in the last couple weeks you might want to call him back.

QWKRNU is right about service. They will send someone out at all hours of the night, if not he will show up himself (even if he has to bring his kids with him because there is no sitter)..

Feel free to call me if you want to know more. 314-989-5810

Justin wanted to me to post this since he tried replying to the thread but kept getting an error response.. He is now on here as "Waves and Wheels"

Maybe I can shed a little light on the subject, First off I'm very picky about what the final product is that comes out of waves and wheels , I'm very honest about what will give you a great and reliable sound system and I never try to sell a customer things they wont use or apperciate or sell you some cheap junk just to make a sale. Our installation and products choice has been perfected over 12years and well over 1000 marine audio installations to get where we are at. It's no different than every time I bring up that I want to make my boat faster, every person perks up and know just what to do and how to do it and can save me big time cash! But I like my boat to start and be reliable and there are very few people that I would bring my boat too and yes it cost me much more than the other guy but its right and they stand behind it. It's no different with a marine audio system. It's nothing like a car system and thier a real pain in the ass trust me I deal with it every day. But I love what I do and I'm more than willing to help and guide anyone to acheive a great marine sound system and if anyone feels they got ripped off please feal free to call me @ 573-302-1657 and I will be more than happy to explain details and other options. Thanks Justin / wavesandwheels.net

Hey All-
Since I started this thread and I'm new to MWBP, I just wanted to respond...Justin was very impressive when I met with him to look at my boat. It has been quite a while since I have had to do anything with a marine stereo system...and when I met with him, it was the first bid I received for a system....He was very thorough and gave me several options....He clearly knew what he was doing and I was impressed! I also know that he only uses top quality materials and brands that he has good experience with...I will admit that my bid seemed high to me....it may not be high at all....but I don't know because I only have one bid....that is why I put the question out there....I still may go with Justin....I just want to be able to obtain a second bid in order to make a good decision....I in no way want to convey anything other than the fact that I was looking for another bid.....My reference to getting a decent system without getting ripped off really means that I don't know much about this stuff and would feel better if I was able to get another bid.....We all know what it is like when we get estimates to do work....Very rarely do we take the first estimate and go with it....And that is all I wanted to do.....I don't know any other audio people at the lake.......Justin, I was very impressed by you and your company....and in no way do I want you to think anything else! Thanks!

DrewPlus2,
Here is my experience... I had several bids on an upgrade to my system over a couple of years. Everytime I was ready to do it, something else came up. I went to Justin last year and told him what I was looking for and he made some suggestions that were very sound and convincing. Everyone else wanted to put so much stuff in my boat it would have weighed 200lbs at least and cost accordingly. W&W showed me a better alternative and with a lot less equipment and cost. Although another road block ($) hit me before I could have them do the work, I took their advice and stated making some basic changes myself that they suggested. What I have done so far has made a 1000% difference. He did a cruiser for a friend of mind that is absolutely mind blowing (ears too). So if the have the $'s and you want a effecient sound system that will work and last, I suggest you seriously consider what he says. I been around the electronics industry for 30 years and I can tell you that I could have easily spent 2x as much money and not gotten these results. Feel free to pm me.
