Press Release......Big Thunder/R.E.W. Materials Superboat Wins Orange Beach!!!!!\

The Big Thunder Marine/R.E.W Materials SUperboat Unlimited 46' Skater was crowned the winner of the Orange Beach, AL "Thunder on the Gulf" on Sunday. Competing against the always tough Bacardi Silver and Callan Marine superboats as well as privateer Pair-a-Dice in the beautiful MTI cat, Big Thunder's boat was able to outlast the competition in a battle of attrition. A slow start at first quicly lead to a second place position by the time the boats rounded turn 2 and was running down the Bacardi Silver boat with its hired gun crew. Two of the greatest in the sport were at the controls of Bacardi SIlver, John Tomlinson was at the throttles and racing champion Hugh Fuller was manning the steering wheel as Bob Morgan and Dennis Hillhouse, in his first offshore race, were reeling in the the beautiful black and sliver boat. The Big Thunder boat was gaining gorund each lap until an untimely spin in turn 4 pushed them to half a lap behind Bacardi but the always cool Morgan was able to keep the boat on the course, recover and start reeling in the competition once again. On lap 11, the Port Rear engine shed its blower belt as well as the seawater pump belt rendering theat bullet out of the fight. Still equipped with 3 healthy motors, the Big Thunder Skater continued on course at a reduced speed of 120 mph to find that Bacardi had suffered the same fate!!!! Dead in the water as throttleman Tomlinson herocially changed blower belts on the course, Bacardi Silver was able to make steam again and rejoin the race on the same lap as Big Thunder and was quickly gaining ground on the wounded craft until spitting yet another blower belt off and ending their day.

Bob Morgan and Dennis Hillhouse remained the last boat running on the course and completed 14 of the scheduled 15 laps until the race was called.

What a tremedous test of wiils it has been for the crew, friends and loved ones. Look for us int he upcoming Budweiser Shootout next weekend at LOTO!!!

Im outta here....
