Most importantly, how did Christian do??????????
Christian

Third
we did 140.5db, the 46 black thunder did 141.1, and a 33 scarab built by waves and wheels did 141.3
we could have done better but really did not spend the time tuning it as we should have, we were having fun and [smilie=trink39] instead
I am disapointed and ok with it at the same time, i guess the 46 BT is the one that lots of bars are not so happy with cause he pulls up and cranks up the stereo and competes with the bar for music, so I am in a decent group [smilie=crazy]

i was lucky enough to park next to Christian in 'Semen Sound' on Saturday.. and I don't think he ever turned it up very loud, and It shook my boat as if the stereo was mounted in my boat... Nice job... install is very impressive.(killer).
He said he could hear it flying down the lake.

Nice job. What did John hit last year? Wasn't it like 148 or something??? Pretty respectable none the less.

I have no idea on what he hit last year, I think 143, cause we did 141, but this year it was a different meter, the one they used this year was full range instead of just subs so it it a more realitic reading of what the entire system will do, it is what they use for competition car audio systems

Yeah, its him. Its the first time I've heard of any bar owners being upset with him. Hell, we know most of them that we go to. But, who knows.

According to Justin he said that hitting 140+ on that meter was really hard to do. So props to all that did for sure.

ok i know how they meter a car in competition, but were do they place the mic in a boat??
Christian
08-25-2008, 09:41 PM
It was held at basically drivers ear between the front bolsters and they moved the mike in an arc from left to right to see fi they could get a better score. It was nice as the last couple of years they would allow the mic to get corner loaded etc, and this was a much more "true" volume reading than in years past

Yeah, in the past it almost seemed more like a "port wars" type of metering.
Does anybody know if they ended up using the OSHA meter or the term-lab?
I would have loved to go but didn't get a chance.

I never knew any of em were upset either, but everytime we are meeting Vinny anywhere, we hear him before we see him, and its not the exhaust lol.

It was the OSHA meter weightd 15db down (since the meter only goes to 130)
I had only heard the stories about the BT so I cna not verify that they have any truth to them

That's what I was wondering, I couldn't find any OSHA meters that went above 130 when I was looking up some info on them the other day. So it was confusing as to how people were getting scores above what the meter can read, lol.
