What would be the difference between the same size props in 3 blade vs 4 blade? THANKS!!!

About 200rpms less for the 4 blade. Probably more stern lift with the 4 blade. better planing and cruise speed with the 4 blade. Maybe a slight reduction in top end speed with the 4 blade.
Just general rule of thumb stuff. Results may vary slightly depending on what the boat likes.

It had 4 blades when I got it but they're at the bottom of the lake along with half a prop shaft etc. Might have to see if I can find some more or something along 25p. Seems it did better with 4 blades. Thanks G!
I think you just need to trade it on a 40 OL with triples, and call it good. [smilie=crazy]

Deal! I'll trade Both my boats and maybe throw in a couple of sandrails and quads for the 40! Actually I've been advertising the BBT and if it sells I'm going bigger...

My understanding is that anytime you add a blade, you get better holeshot, increased acceleration and better cruise at same rpm. That is what I got going from 4 to 5 blade, assume it is the same going from 3-4. Top end may or may not decrease depending on boat. Mine stayed the same.

Cleavers give very little bow lift and will tend to blow out easier than a round eared prop.

I don't need any more blowing out that's for sure. With OttoPeddler and LakeRat on board that's plenty.

Thanks to CrownMan[smilie=042.gif] I got to try his 26p 4 blades yesterday at ElDorado. Boat popped on plane by far faster than it ever has but lost 1.4 mph. Gonna try some 25p 3 blades next time at the lake in a few weeks and see how the odd couple likes them.

I can't count that high. And have to remember I still have the odd couple pushing me around... I'm guessing the 25's will do perfect... for fuel mileage...

When you hit a big log with a 4 blade it will do more damage to the log

Yep. As long as you leave a good impression...

How do three blade cleavers compare to three blades if you don't need stern lift?
