Anyone have any experience with a product called the skeg guard?

It is a great fix for a damage skeg, very simple to install and looks great. I sell a full line of them most sell for around 90.00.

I have them on the PQ and they have lasted 3 seasons with only a couple of scratches from hitting submerged crap, and they polish out nicely

Careful with using a Skeg Guard. Your aluminum skeg is considered a sacrificial item to the outdrive. Normal "light" impacts may chip a piece or section out that typically is repairable. If you have an impact with a skeg guard on you're likely to lose the entire skeg. For a little more than the cost of a new skeg guard, you can have the skeg welded, repaired & repainted. Call around to your local prop shops for somebody to repair.

Can I use the word "skeg" any more times in this post??

Oh ya. Welcome to the site![smilie=042.gif]

I thought skeg guards were designed to break away in the event of an impact.
