I have a pair of Shotgun silencers that i am bolting on the exhaust but they are used and the finish was in bad shape. There are some scrathes in the stainless that I removed with a mild grinder wheel. What is the best way to polish them out? I took sandpaper back over the areas I hit with the grinder so they are smooth and ready to polish, I just need to know what materials and techniques work best.

After every outing I use a product called Flitz.
http://www.flitz-polish.com/
It is really a good product in my option that cuts through the hard water that is left behind after a day of running. As a side not I also used it on my 18 wheeler wheels. Cut through them also with ease.
I have found this product only at the really really big truck stops with a chrome shop. But since then I have been getting from an auto body supply catalog.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

Thanks bghert, my old trailer was 2001 just to give you an idea.
Bajapit, I have nothing against Mother's products and in fact I use a lot of their stuff. But there is something about Flitz on metal that just does not compare. I have tried a few different product in the past and hands down I will say Flitz was the best. It is a little pricey, but well worth it.
Good luck and let me know how they turn out. [smilie=trink39]
