I have an 02 Baja 252 Islander. It has a 496 mag 375 hp with a bravo drive and a 23 P Mirage Plus prop.

Top speed is not that important to me, we mainly cruise around, pull tubes, wake boards and skiers. It seems like I'm always pulling wake boarders around 1900 RPM and after a while the boat comes up on plane and I'm going to fast. I back off the smallest amount you can to slow down and sure enough, after a little while, the boat starts to fall off plane. It's impossible to hold the right speed. Would I be better off with a 4 blade prop, if so, what type and pitch?

My other issue is while pulling skiers and making a sharp turn, sometimes the prop starts to grab some air and you have to back off till it bites again.

Thanks,

Bill

4 blade SS prop will be a big improvement. Bravo 1 prop...try one at the same pitch you're running now.

I went from a 21P mirage to a 21P Revolution 4 blade, I almost can't believe the difference.

I have a Rev 4 23p on my 242 and it works great for pulling tubes etc. Also a much better hole shot.

Thanks everyone for the input. Does anybody have experience with a Mercury High Five prop?

Not personal experience, but I know a few folks with one. It'll pop your boat on plane very rapidly, but you lose a fair amount of top end mph.

They're a PITA to back up with too.

I like the Revolution 4 as a better all around prop on boats like yours.

The High 5 will do well as a straight line pulling propeller
