Anybody have any suggestions for making that 50 year old aluminum look new?
Toon brite? or anything else? I hate to have to paint it!
Can of Coke?
Works on chrome at least......

We used SOS Pads on Mike and June's Yellow House Boat. It took 8 of us 10 hours, we only did the Top Deck Rails - I had not worked that hard in over 25 years - It was worth it, the rails came out nice, plus I got to whore around on a 70+ house boat for a week [smilie=crazy]

This is the 1958 plaza 14' v-bottom fishing boat. I'll give the SOS and the cleaner a try. I figure there has to be some way to clean that thing up! I'd rather be on the house boat!
THANKS!

You could also get some Zing Hull cleaner that is made for aluminum boats and use that first.

Recycle. A case of BUD LIGHT would be a good start.[smilie=trink39]

Don't know if they still make the stuff but Naval Jelly for Aluminum works great for shining up aluminum. Very caustic so don't drip it on any painted surfaces.

MMH,
We didn't get down to the lake until about 12:30 on Sat....just in time for the rain to start. Watched a couple movies, played a marathon afternoon of UNO, checked out Dirty Duck and Capt'n Ron's. Good appetizers, nice decorating and friendly folks at the DD and CR's looks EXCELLENT!
Oh, and the fishin' boat is in the garage at home. Hopin' to make it water ready by early summer.
Hope you guys had a good morning on the water....cause there was no boating the rest of the weekend!(well, at least not for us)

Find an area truck stop with truck wash. Have them do an acid wash on the aluminum. That is what we do to shine up the aluminum fuel tanks, etc. on a truck.

You are right about the weather saturday. Got the boat back on the lift just before it started to rain. I really liked the Dirty Duck also, try their homemade potatoe chips, very good
