i like the name

We had orginally named it, "Pain Killer". Then the second time we were out on the lake, we heard that country song, 'Indian Outlaw'. The boat is an Outlaw. John (Baja22) is half American Indian. I looked at him, he looked at me... Done deal. Name was changed that week. It was too perfect. (Literally)

Changing the name of a boat comes with drawbacks... I may be the only superstitious one here, but let me tell you a story behind the names of that particular boat!!

When we bought it, it was called "Blu By U", I spent a couple hours carefully scraping that name off with a razor blade. Took it to the lake - BAM! Had a wheel hub catch on fire on the highway. Limped back to town...replaced the bearings on that wheel, etc. No lake that day!

Then we put the name "Pain Killer" on it. Once again..on the highway, a tire blew, and we were almost to the lake!! Really screwed up that lake day! Limped back to Sam's, bought another tire, off to the lake we went. Get to the lake, damn boat wouldn't start. Starter going bad - John beat on it (the starter Mosi, he beat on the starter:roll: ), off we went. (we eventually had to put a new starter on it).

Then we changed the name to "Indian Outlaw". On the way to the lake. Less than a mile there.... BAM! Lost tire, wheel and all!! Spent over an hour looking for the damn thing! The tire/wheel came off, bounced up higher than the telephone lines, went off in a corn field. Yes, I spent an hour walking around in my flip flops, swimsuit, and a summer dress looking for it in weeds and a damn corn field!! Even scared up some deer. Finally found it. Limped to my parents' house down the road - that ended our boating that day! New axle!

So, once we get it home, John replaced/repacked all the bearings. New tires all around. That trailer was viscious, I tell ya!! But still, each time something happened, it was after we changed the name on the boat. John tells me I'm full of sh!t, but well...maybe I am...maybe I'm not. I was told by someone that when you change the name of a boat, you're supposed to have a ceremony. I for one, am NOT going to break a bottle of whatever on the bow of my boat. Three reasons - 1. I'm not going to risk scratching the boat with broken glass. 2. I don't want to clean up broken glass. 3. I'm not wasting alcohol.

those three reasons are cheaper than an axle a new set of tires and a starter. You got to think economically. Place a towel where you are going to strike the boat, by some cheap boones farm and bust the glass on someone elses property that already has junk everywehre. then leave. LOL

Indian outlaw is a cool boat name. Wet Dream Catcher and Trail of Beers are also good ones if anyone else woudl liek to use them on their boat. :)
