I had a fuse block blow on my starter and I lost all my electric but I got that fixed in a mad dash yesterday and managed to get on the water by noon. Everything was going fine but at the end of the day my captain's call quit working (stuck in the off position). The arms on the motors move freely and the fuse for that acc switch is fine. Any ideas?

If you have the electric kind I have a circuit breaker for the system that is at the motor and not the fuse block, i have popped mine before, if they are the air version, see if there is power protecton at the pump. Not much help, and kind of common sense, but that is where I would start. If you a VOM you can start chasing down voltage and see where it stops.

Hope this helps

It is the electric kind. I thought I pushed on the reset button but maybe I didn't push hard enough on it. I'll give it another shot. Thanks for your help. I do have a VOM so I can resort to checking voltage if that doesn't do it. I did pull off the switch panel on the side of the boat and none of the wires were loose. I was suspicious of that because I had to remove it to hotwire the electric engine hatch after I blew the fuse block on the starter yesterday. Thanks again. [smilie=042.gif]

Another question....about 6 inches past the circuit breaker reset button there's a cylinder shaped electronic component with I think 3 wires (doing this by memory) going in and coming out of it. Anyone know what this is called? It's the part that's bad I'm pretty sure.

Found it on ebay, bought a decal on ebay and had the wife resize it and put it on the computer.

That fuse block on the starter didn't blow just because...belive me I know found out the hard way.... Check all of your 12V wires around the back side of your motor, I had the fuse block replaced after it blew closed the engine hatch and heard a pop...yep fuse blew again..hot wired the engine hatch got it up and started checking wires, had a 12V wire pinch between the hatch motor and a power steering line, direct ground..It was also the 12V power to the selinoids for the electric corsa silent choice.

The componet with the three wires is the selinoid. I'd check for 12v at all connects before ordering a part, I'm willing to bet that you will find one of the power wires to your captins call has an bare spot that will create a direct ground again...Look for any where that it could be pinched or get hot and melt the insulation off.

Good luck...

I have the same problem with my boat. I blew the fuse on the starter as well, replaced that and lost captains call switch. I called the Corsa Co. and they sent me a wiring diagram - there are only two things that would cause this. Either the wiring harness from the solenoids on the exhaust to the fuse box is bad or the solenoids are shot. In the meantime, try turning your captains call switch on and go back and manually move the solenoid arms to on and it should open the exhaust. I have been doing this manually until I replace the wiring harness on my boat. It costs about 120 bucks if I remember right.

Thanks for the additional advice. I do think the fuse block was the main culprit that started all my problems though. And I should have explained a little further. It didn't just blow. I was a dumbass and hooked up the battery cables backwards on the jump terminals under the back seat and fried the fuse block myself. I've checked all the other wiring and everything with the exception of the captains call and the part mentioned appears to be fine. This feedback was good though. I feel pretty confident that I can fix this on my own now. Thanks!!!

Also pull the black boot off of the back of the solenoid and make sure all connections are tight and no build up on them(good connection). That could also be a problem...
