Can anyone recomend some one in the central/southern Illinois area that does welding/skeg repair?

What area of Illinois are you from? We are about a hour and 15 min south east of St. Louis. Where do you boat at?

Depending on how bad your skeg is, you might be able to just slip on a skeg guard and have it looking like new. See this link: http://overtons.com/cgi-bin/overtons/order/pdetail.cgi?29099++

If you have enough skeg left, Definitely bolt on a skeggard, best $99 I ever spent!!!

I put one on my old boat that had a brovo 3. Looks great and easy to install.
