Can you buff out light scratches?

I have some light scratches (not sure where they came from :oops: ) and would like to know how to get them fixed. If they are light, can you buff them out?... or atleast make them less visible?

Use some 1000 or 1500 wet sand and follow up with 3M Finnese It to remove sanding scratches.
