Can anyone help me . I have a 1995 Baja 22 TC with a 454 carbeurated engine. I have changed the cam and also changed to Merlin oval port heads and still have not got the performance that I am looking for . I am only running at about 4600-4700 on the top end. I know there is more there but am not sure what to do ? I already have an ofenhausen manifold on it . But someone suggested I try a high rise such as an edelbrock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ?
Thank you.

hskrjhn,
The Edelbrock Air Gap intakes work very well, increasing horsepower AND torque considerably. There are so many variables when building hi performance boat engines. Keep in mind that you want max hp around the 4600-5000 rpm range. Is the camshaft suitable for that rpm range? How is the holeshot acceleration of the boat? WHat drive &ratio? WHat size prop are you running?
I'll try to answer the best I can based on my experience.
