Missing: Drive oil!!

My drive oil resevoir is empty on my 03 Outlaw. I can't find any leaks anywhere. Where has it gone. Will I ever see it again! Help me find my Oil!! Should I be concerned? The alarm does not sound when I start the engine. The boat has approx 30hrs. on a 496 mag HO

Hey Dan ... just messin with ya.

My 03 496HO has always gone through a strange amount of drive oil as well. Never noticed a leak. But I do make a note to check it more often now and keep it full to the line whenever I notice it's dropped. [smilie=042.gif]

I have twin 496 mag Ho's also. I have noticed that it takes about 1 oz each 10 hours.
I addad a few drops last weekend.
Keep an eye on it.

OH ... and I always make a note to check the fluid levels in the water.

1st time I checked the oil I freaked because it was showing 1 qt low. After putting the boat in the water and checking it, it was fine. Eased my mind quite a bit. :roll:

Hey there, as usual the board has spoken again. Its not unusual for the drive lube monitor to fluctuate and need additional oil form time to time.....unless it empties on a pretty regular basisn, then its leking somwhere. Have you had your boat serviced at the 20 hr mark? The drive lube gets changed then and refilled and sometimes air pockets get trapped in the drive and take few hrs to work themselves out. Keep a qt. bottle of Merc Hi Performance drive lube in the boat with you and check it ( in the water) every time you put the boat in the water, add as necessary to the full mark and keep track of how much its using.

I am in the same boat :lol: . Twin 496 mag ho I loose about 1-2 oz's every 10-12 hours. Keep putting it in!
