Prop Question.....

A Buddy of mine is wanting to change props on his boat.....He wants to go to a 4 bladed prop.....any suggestions?

Here are his specs......

Boat.....2000 Aztec Crow

Engine....Mercruiser 350mpi....315hp.....Serial# OL391174

Drive.....Direct Drive 1:1 ratio......Serial# 83159

Prop.....OJ Johnson....Prop# 799....13x12 10pitch?.....Nibral

This is a wakeboard boat......What would be the best prop for him to use....

Depending on the pulling power needs, 3-4 blades and 1" pitch changes to stay in the WOT range of the engine manf.

4 blades pull harder than 3.

propping to the top WOT rpm range pulls harder than bottom of the WOT range.
