I need to get some props for the ole BBT since one of my drives threw half of my only set of props in the lake...
38' Tempest
9.5:1 540's
Crane 139731 Hydraulic rollers
1050 Dominator carbs (and a ummm, Somewhat bigger set of Dominators)
Victor intakes
TRS drives w/wo 2" spacers (Seem to be about 1:40 ratio)
Boat with 5 200+ pound guys and full (240? gallons) of fuel in maybe 1' chop went 67 mph with Hydromotive 14.5 x 24 4 blades. And the props did Not have a diffuser? ring, they were just straight out to the rear of the prop.
Pics of the boat, old props, and how the drives sit on the boat With the 2" spacers.
THANKS for any input. Don

You need to spin them bitches about 5500 rpm. I'd try some 23 Mirages.

You definately need to spin at least 5000rpms with your engine. I would try some 24 Bravo 1's, maybe even some 22's. They will give a better cruise than the hydro's, will carry the bow more, and should spin a few hundred rpm faster.

Based on his first sentence, I'm thinking you might have to go diving to try them both.

Depending on whether you want top end or low and cruise, I'd try 23 Mirage + or Revolution 4's. Then minor tweaking will get you where you want to be.

Yes - one of my props has taken up, or I guess Under, lake residency full time.

Actually I woul dlike to have go fast set and a set to get as decent as possible cruise economy. Are Rev 4's a given size or what diameter and pitch do I want for speed or cruise? Thanks[smilie=042.gif]

Hey, didn't I say that you needed 23" Mirages? [smilie=042.gif] Brett & I are smart fellers huh?! I'd bet he is smarter than I am when it comes to all this propeller stuff.;)

Rev 4's are only available in 14 5/8's diameter. The pitch sizes run in odd numbers to 25 pitch.
If you would like to try one, give me a call and we'll set it up.
