I found this grill that can be used on the boat. It uses just 10 charcoal briquettes, the base stays cool. I've picked it up and moved it when the insides were hot. You can grill, roast, fry, bake etc with it. We love it.. to try it out, I cooked sausages, warmed some ribs and cooked a (thawed) frozen pizza on it. All of it came out great!
Haven't used it ON the boat yet but I think it would work well. It has rubber feet & is stable itself.

I just ordered some accessories for it today.
I found it at Sportsmans Warehouse.. and got a deal on it cause we also just got a Honda quiet generator and they were having a special where you received a $50 store gift card. I lucked out, the special was supposed to be over last Sunday but the sign was still up so I was able to get it.

Here is their website if anyone is interested http://www.cobbglobal.com/Cobb_america.asp

It was even cheaper at Sportsman Warehouse. Their price was about $90 for the Premier Grill, cook book (big deal!), and Carry Case. With my $50 store card, I paid about $40!!! Then I spent about $145 incl shipping for some accessories. It is an awesome grill though! I really like it.

KSHotWife: My question is how you like it after having it a while - has it held up well, do you still use it alot? I wouldn't mind having something like this. Thanks!

Let me try to answer that for you......

This grill does work really great and we have used it a few times.....

But.....

As with all her items she buys....She gets every accessory under the sun and is all gun-ho about it at first.....

Then it finds a shelf to be stored on until further notice......

We found it this weekend and the first thing she said was " We need to take this to the lake this year".....so she moved it closer to the door

LOL......

Love ya Honey!!

Hey now!!!!!!!!!!!!! [smilie=011.gif]

It will NOT be in the garage sale! OK, so HF4L maybe is sort of telling the truth but I WANT to take it out. In actuality what most likely happened is we were getting ready to go and I said Hey! Lets take the Cobb and HF4L's reply was .... oh just take something simple like a loaf of white bread and slim jim's.

AND.... more than likely I was barely awake when he said Come on!!! Let's go!!!! Leaving in 7 minutes!!! Hurry up!! We have to leave!!!

Then he sits in the truck with the engine running.....[smilie=crazy]

Love you too Honey!!![smilie=lovers]

I really hate to pi$$ on anyone's parade here but I do hope that grill is for using on shore. I was in the Coast Guard and learned a little over the years. Its impossible to explain what a bad idea an open flame or hot coals are on a boat, even if the outer shell never gets hot can it be guaranteed some dick like me wont go barreling by and rock the boat and topple the grill. Grills that are made to be used on boats usually mount over the side of the boat and are gas so it can be shut off in a hurry if need be. Please think about this before you use it on a boat, I dont want to read here someones boat burnt up and people were hurt. If the intent was not use on the boat please disregard this message. Thanks:oops:

OK, number one, I don't allow CHEETO's or DORITO's on the boat, you think I'm gonna have a grill with hot coals on it?? Puhleeeeze.... But thanks for the warning  It's more the fact that it doesn't get hot (less of a chance of burning someone or something) when using on shore.

HF4L & KSH - you sound just like us and probably every other couple! I know I'll get excited and show it to boogieman and he'll say something like - "just another god d&%n thing to set on the shelf in the garage next to that food dehydrator you just had to have" LOL ;) Then, he'll complain that all I bring is a loaf of bread and slim jims!! Sound familiar???

And I allow about anything on my boat (but it's an old POS) but I would draw the line at a charcoal grill on the boat. I will transport it to a beach or somewhere but it will not be lit while on the boat. Anyone ever seen fiberglass burn, it does it hot and in a hurry. The boat I was on in the CG was steel and they would not allow us a grill on board.
